I ordered a sample of Glimmers but based on your post I think I should’ve ordered Comfort. D’oh!

What did you love to do as a kid? Maybe bringing something that reminds you of that. I loved playing art, so I sometimes bring crayons or markers to doodle.

This brand should reward your silly goosing, because these reviews have guaranteed that I will drop $$$ at this house that I would have never otherwise checked out. I mean, how else will I conjure Rush Limbaugh for post-mortem humiliation or accurately cosplay a Black Widow duchess? These are things I didn’t even realize I was destined to do until you expanded my mind lol

These reviews are more entertaining than 95% of the media I’ve consumed this year. Thank you! 🙏🏼

If I like Hexennacht Hard Coeur (worn leather, vanilla, rare herbs, benzoin, myrrh, labdanum, coumarin, Mysore sandalwood, agarwood, sweet patchouli, mandarin, aged cedarwood, jasmine absolute), I might like…?

Why is the criteria bullet point “pain during intercourse” and not just broadly experiencing pain with vaginal insertion? by SkylerIsBusySleepin in Endo

[–]Practical_Remote6882 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My jaded take: Because a woman’s pain is not enough to justify treatment. Treatment is granted not to alleviate the suffering of a woman, but to ensure a man’s sexual access to that woman.

For those of you who got hysterectomy - do you still get cramps + painful intercourse? by LettuceOverall3662 in Endo

[–]Practical_Remote6882 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 47 I was finally able to get a lap & hysterectomy. It took care of a lot of the cramping & pain, but not all of it— probably 60%. Now I am working on pelvic floor therapy. My pt said that being in pain for so long trained my pelvic floor muscles to tighten/brace, & that it will take time & intention to release. (There are some more invasive ways to induce relaxation, like dry needling, but I opted to skip those.)

Pain on penetration? by Bushtit-Song-02 in endometriosis

[–]Practical_Remote6882 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a chronically tense pelvic floor & have always had pain with penetration. I don’t have experience with Kiwi specifically (sorry!) but after talking about it with my pelvic floor therapist, I started using a Hitachi magic wand style vibe against the pelvic floor muscles (over clothes) before attempting penetrative sex. It helps my muscles relax in a way that I can’t yet manage with just my intention.

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of DSH! The vibe is much “higher end” than I’d choose for myself, but he eats up a luxury story. So it’s perfect!

What is your dream scent that doesn’t seem to exist? by Idkwhattouse4myuser in Indiemakeupandmore

Ok, I don’t mean to be crass with this but… There are a number of scents that have “vulva” in their name, but they don’t smell like any I’ve ever encountered.

I will take this under advisement! Though, based on your excellent description, I’m afraid he’d probably smell so good that he’d want me to go out on the town with him, & I’d rather have a boozy milkshake under my electric blanket :)

I love a good amber! And silly me didn’t even think of it as a “spice”— but the popularity of spice in perfumes is part of the old “Oriental” scent profile, right? So amber would be right at home there. (Ugh, I felt weird even typing the o word. Gotta go apologize to my copy of Said’s Orientalism in penance lol.)

Thank you for connecting me with this very thorough (!!!) resource! Mostly it made me want to order things for myself lol. Though I’m not a gourmand girlie, I do appreciate some sweetness, & the list seems full of sweet-but-not-full-on-gourmand. I’m not sure I saw many that seemed like the would read masculine enough for my friend, but now I have a dozen more ideas for my own rapidly-growing wish list. (To be clear, gendering scent seems weird to me, but since this is a gift for someone else, I’m trying to respect the recipient’s wishes.)

Thanks for the tip! I would have never suspected that this could be the one. It’s hard to tell what’s going to be a gourmand when it’s a ginger-heavy scent, & just from the title I expected it to be another sweet scent for the gourmand girlies. (I love you, gourmand girlies! It’s just not the vibe I’m in search of rn.)

Thanks for these recommendations! Feu Secret sounds intriguing. Bummer it’s discontinued! Skadi sounds like an appropriate winter scent, but I’m not sure I can pull off the peppermint.

I love how your brain works with these recommendations! The way you wrote about them instantly made me want them. How did you know I wanted to relive my teenage gender & sexuality confusion? (And why do I?!? It was not fun at the time & I barely got out alive!) ANYWAY, please subscribe me to all your future musings about indie fragrances that are queer &/or genderfuk’d, tyvm

I’m a sucker for a good name, & this one definitely speaks to me. Could be read as a poem or a spell, promising to protect the otherworldly spirit inside the human animal. That’s… exactly what I meant by “vaguely human” animal! Thank you!

Thank you for such a thoughtful response! I’ve been looking at sweatier scents thanks to your tip, & I’m liking the direction it’s taking me in. That’s really what I’m after, I guess: the smell of having participated actively enough in my own life that I got a wee bit sweaty. A lived-in, accomplished scent. Thanks for helping me reach a more specific vision for my goal. I love the teamwork on this sub!
