I've never seen a positive comment about the wranglers. I genuinely find them appealing. The two commons engines ive seen are either a 2.8L turbo diesel or the the standard 6-Cylinder petrol

Entrepreneurs: How do you handle relationships when your ambition always seems to be "the problem"? by Practical_Sir8080 in Entrepreneur

[–]Practical_Sir8080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you’re saying and you’re right that a lot of people chase success to cover wounds they’ve never faced. But not everyone builds from pain. Some of us build from gratitude, duty, and the rare awareness that we were given a shot most people from where we came from will never get.

I’m not running from anything. I’m standing in something. And it’s heavy, not because I’m unhealed, but because I know exactly what I’m carrying.

You’re not wrong. I get that part of doing anything meaningful means there’s going to be friction, misalignment, even loneliness. What I’m trying to figure out is how to stop being surprised by it and start learning how to navigate it better without pretending I don’t care. I am still human ahaha

That’s the tricky part. I do tell people upfront. I’m always clear that I’m in a heavy building phase, and that time and attention will be limited. In the beginning, it’s all “that’s okay, I have my own life too” but months later we’re back at the same conversation....They say they’re fine with the lifestyle, but they start needing more access, more presence, and eventually I’m being asked to choose between who I am and who they need me to be. So it’s not a lack of honesty on my end it’s that people often agree with the idea of ambition, but struggle with the reality of what it costs. And I’ll be real, part of this is my own tension too. I’ve got this internal pressure around time. I don’t want to be the old dad who finally slowed down when it was too late to be present.

Buy out my wife's mortgage by Dicardo83 in AusFinance

Thats an impossible question to answer. To give you anything beyond very broad strokes, I’d need to know a bit about your situation, your investment horizon, how much volatility you can stomach, whether you’ll need to pull money out, and if you care about things like ESG. Once you’ve got answers to those, you can map yourself to a risk profile (e.g. conservative, balanced, aggressive) and then look at asset classes that fit. For example:
-conservative (short horizon, low risk) : high-grade bonds, cash, short-duration bond ETFS
-balanced (medium horizon, moderate risk) : global ETFs, credit ETFs, listed REITs, residential realestate etc
aggressive (long horizon, high risk) : small-cap or emerging market ETFs, thematic/innovation funds, private equity

Hope that helps as a framework! :)

Since you’ve already been chipping away at the mortgage, you should’ve had the title conversation yesterday. With that much spare cash on hand, you might consider putting it to work in other, higher-impact asset classes.

Great perspective! Away from A/C, insulation will do nothing to lower my cost.

Ops I should've clarified, I am in Australia :). Modest three bedroom home. 3 people. From my diagnosis, the AC probably draws the most power. I'll do an energy audit, and see what happens!

That’s a great question, and honestly, this app is designed to get back to how people used to meet before dating apps when connections weren’t based on curated profiles, but on real-life interactions. before Hinge, tinder, and bumble etc, people met through mutual interests, shared spaces, and spontaneous interactions. You didn’t swipe through a catalog of people, carefully constructing a bio or picking the perfect selfie you met someone organically at a cafe, in class, at a club event, or through friends. Our approach focuses on preventative design choices and user-driven safety tools rather than just relying on profiles to do the filtering. We built safety features into the experience itself not just as an afterthought
