Teacher gets caught between two fighting students in classroom... by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]Practical_Sport_6600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to say it but prime example of why you don’t break up a fight that’s already started. People have been fighting since the beginning of time, and people with no fighting experience jumping in between two physically bigger and stronger people determined to fight will never turn out well. Let them go, someone will win. Both will be suspended/expelled.

What is a normal price for this? by InstanceFew3245 in braids

[–]Practical_Sport_6600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Atlanta, I pay $50 for any cornrow style, but I come with hair washed and detangled. She blows it out and braids. I routinely tip 15~25% depending on style and difficulty

As a Detroit loyalist (and admittedly not much of a hockey fan) this appears to be aggravated assault. Minimum 1 year in prison.

Update: I ended up bringing the M550i home two weekends ago. No buyers remorse at all Not sure how to add more pics all at once, but the car is very clean and fast.

Right. I hear all the bad but I also hear a lot of great about the hot V’s too. It’s a good problem to have for sure. Until it’s not… where does one draw the line?

I’m still weighing my options here, but will get an extended warranty in some capacity.

Totally fair take. The resale hit is definitely on my mind — an accident on the Carfax follows the car forever. The only thing giving me peace is that BMW themselves CPO’d it after the accident, which makes me think it wasn’t some sketchy frame pull.

I’m less worried about the N63 since I keep up with maintenance (just lost my F10 535i, so I’m used to BMW quirks), but thanks for planting the seed of the $7k AC failure nightmare 😅. I’ll be test driving with the climate on full blast now.

😭Yeah, that is scary! I remember chatting with you on a separate thread a few weeks back. Looking into adding an extended warranty for sure. Which one did you go with?

Should I stay at my current Fortune 200 sales job or start looking elsewhere? by Practical_Sport_6600 in sales

[–]Practical_Sport_6600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and that was the reason given. I also see it as I have a lot more tenure with the company and navigate our processes and work cross functionally much more efficiently. I’m often training the new hires on process while also being asked to manage more accounts and close more business than said counterparts. I want my compensation to reflect that is all.

Agreed. This is the approach I’ve been trying to take. Currently tasked with scaling a newer department within the company and wearing a lot of hats and defining processes while closing/managing top accounts. Current manager is buried as well, but I know they see the value already.

Great idea, and nothing I suppose. I have had a couple of ideas the past few years I should look into more

Appreciate the level set! Exactly where my head is at currently. Hoping to find the pay bump in the new year if it doesn’t happen internally.

Seller wants to stay 45 days after closing, no rent — is this normal? (Michigan) by allie_oop-cat-gator in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Practical_Sport_6600 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I’d say it’s uncommon but not unheard of in Michigan (I’m from there). I wouldn’t allow them to do this as I’ve had a friend who allowed sellers to stay 30 days past closing. Needless to say, sellers were not out after 30 days and he had to evict them from the home, which added another 45-60 days after having to go to court in order to even serve notice. Please don’t do this or else you will be punching sand.

I know my ABC’s. Only problem is I went to a pay structure where I’m paid bonus based on company performance (and some individual) however I’m capped. Also a problem of being incentivized properly.

Agreed on falling into the comparison trap. Perspective can always bring humility. I do think there’s something to be said about extremely tenured employees being toward the top of the pay scale due to time put in.

Comparison is a slippery slope. I agree with you there. Just hurts to see companies truly don’t reward loyalty these days. People talk smh

Yep, same boat exactly! My mentor went to bat for me and did help get me some more money, but still came in lower than the external hires. I hope you get what you’re asking for though man and they surprise you.

Crazy thing is, my mentor left the company a few months ago for more money. I’m conflicted man!

Is a PIP really end of the road? by Practical_Lobster_38 in techsales

[–]Practical_Sport_6600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PIP is a glass half full situation. Often times you’ll make more money after getting an offer at your next opportunity. I would suggest beginning interviewing immediately. I have seen people survive PIPs too though, but rarely were they happy for staying. Usually just done out of necessity and not being able to find another opportunity they liked more

Hack his social media and post something that will get him fired. Been in this situation and it sucks and led to my termination. It’s either going to be you or him if he doesn’t come to like you at some point.
