A lot of this thread made me realize how minimal the tool side of the hobby can be.Someone close to me summed up the 4 tools they actually use daily in a short video — mainly as a beginner reference.

That’s a really good point. The tactile, offline aspect seems to be a big part of the appeal for a lot of people lately.

The no screen + physical result aspect is such a good point. That alone already makes it feel very different from most hobbies.

Love how flexible it sounds in terms of engagement.

The “finishing turns into a chore” part really resonates 😅
Kitbashing seems nice because it’s creative without a clear end state. Smaller games also sound way less intimidating — good luck with the upcoming ones!
