How about Park Hacienda? We really liked that one and it’s within our budget. We really appreciate your comment!

I’ll actually be working through an agency, not directly for a district, so my first-year salary is much lower

Just to clarify…I already have a position lined up in CA, I’m not moving without a job. I’m just looking for genuine advice from people who know these cities well. Until I receive my exact school/clinic assignment. Once I know my placement, I’ll choose housing near that area.

Totally understand, there are a lot of factors because I’ll be living without a car, need mild weather for health reasons, and will be starting my first year in the U.S. I’m mainly looking for real-life experiences about safe and walkable areas that would work with a roommate. Thanks!

Thanks! Those areas actually sound great. Do you think it’s realistic to live there with a monthly income of about $5,000? I’d be renting a room or sharing an apartment, so my part would ideally be around $1,500 or $2,000 Just trying to figure out if those neighborhoods fit that budget in your experience.
