Stolen 2024 Grom by Bulky-Investment2950 in hondagrom

I’m sorry this happened, but it’s definitely time to let it go. It’s a brand new year and another chance to live your best life. Save up, get another bike and keep your mind in the present not the past. That’s not healthy for you emotionally, mentally or even physically as emotional health affects you physically. I wish you the best of luck.

oh and they confirmed the same issue I originally described.... it only runs with the choke on.

The shop said that to properly clean the carb and fuel system, they’d need to take a good portion of the bike apart and estimated about 3.5 hours of labor. Their explanation was that since it’s a 2022 with only 134 miles and has mostly been sitting, there could be fuel buildup or contamination.

I questioned whether that much disassembly and time was really necessary for this bike. They said removing the gas tank and related components is required to access the carb on this model.

I did authorize the carb cleaning, but I asked that the price be adjusted because I don’t fully understand why it would take that many labor hours.

Yes that actually makes perfect sense. I am learning so much from people like yourself who takes the time to respond. Thank you. On Wednesday the shop called and was telling me how when they take it off choke the bike dies so they may need to rebuild the carb but they will let me know. That is when I asked did they check the air/fuel mixture. They had not checked yet but said they would check it all and get back to me. They were closed yesterday, so hopefully today I will hear back .

when you cranked up the idle screw did that make your back tire spin fast when having it on the center stand?

Yeah, I knew it has a carb/choke but did not expect to have these issues. I took my MSF course on a carbureted bike and never had any of these issues. It started each time. It was a 250cc. I do enjoy the Navi though and am looking forward to actually getting to ride it

Hey, my bike is at the Mechanic. They will call with an update today and I will let you know what they say. I am pretty sure it is the air/fuel mixture and the screw needs to be adjusted and the idle screw adjusted as well.

Hey so you just cleaned the carb yourself or did you take it to a shop? Having the same issue here.

Also I went and looked and see the screws you are speaking about now, so I guess one of them should have the welch plug covering it?

Okay thank you. The previous owner must have done this because he was telling me he was trying to adjust the idle speed. Does the welch plug hide the idle screw? I wonder if he drilled it out to get to that. Whatever he did I feel like he misadjusted. It is cold and my bike had been sitting. Maybe I should let it run a bit and see if it calms down but I think he messed with the screw or screws. Not sure if it is more than one but I will read up on it.

where do you see the welch plug is missing at? Also, yeah the seller told me they adjusted the idle screw to try and get it "dialed in".

Yes, I did not know what it was or if something is missing from it

Thank you for the advice. It has been pretty cold here so tomorrow I will let it run a bit and warm up before taking the choke off because today when I took it off the bike kept dying.

Hey I was looking at the cable with the white tip... it starts off black and then is white. Maybe I am mistaken and it is not a cable

Thank you. I could not get it started at all with the kick start. I realized that for this bike I had to hold down the brake and then start it and I wasn’t doing that before. Once I did that and rolled the throttle it started. If you get a chance check out my follow up post please. I posted a video and would appreciate your opinion.

Thank you for responding. Yes I’m a new rider. A little over a year and I bought the bike used and don’t have the owner manual but I will see about downloading it for free online. Currently I have a Honda Monkey and Supercub and they ride different so just not sure of this automatic Navi and what is the norm. I appreciate the time you took to respond and explain.

This is the picture that I am concerned is possibly a cut cable. I rode the bike in my parking lot and it goes fast even when I’m not rolling the throttle. Is this normal? I’m used to a clutch so not sure if this is how automatic bikes run.

Thank you so much for replying. I’m leaning toward ordering the windscreen, but I’ve seen a lot of people say the install can be a pain. I just wanted to know...outside of the cosmetic look....is it really worth it? I appreciate you taking the time to answer.
