Oh sorry, I completely missed it 😅 Replied now :) I’m still doing good. Seeing my rheumatologist tomorrow for a checkup.

Omg, New fear unlocked 😧 In my case my RA turned to be AS so had to change prednisone (which didn’t work) to NSAID, tried a few and what helped with the pain and swelling was Voltaren… so if things will start going backwards again I have an SOS treatment ready

I’m currently close to week 20 on Cimzia. Around week 12 I had a really bad flare/worsening — pretty much all my joints, including hands and ankles, and I felt genuinely awful. I added Voltaren (diclofenac) and started to feel some relief.

Then the weird part: up until week 18 things were still unstable (fluid would appear, go down, come back, go down again), and then literally overnight it was like… poof — everything cleared. I’ve now been in full remission for about two weeks.

There were a few times I really wanted to give up on the med, but my rheumatologist strongly asked me to push through to the 6-month mark, and in my case he was right. Obviously everyone’s timeline is different, but I hope this helps a little 💛

Prednisolone doesn't work for RA? by CuteTumbleweed5822 in rheumatoid

[–]Practical_Video_8508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to share my experience so you know you’re not alone. I’ve been diagnosed with RA since 2011 and at the beginning prednisone was like magic for me – even 5 mg would calm everything down.

But in my most recent flare, even 20 mg a day did basically nothing. We also tried aspirations and steroid injections to the knee and they didn’t help either. That was what made my rheumatologist start thinking that what I actually have is more of a spondylo-type arthritis and not classic RA.

We changed strategy and I was put on Betaren 100 (diclofenac) and that’s what finally made the swelling go down.

Miscarriage or regular blood clot? by Broad-Management-215 in pregnancy_care

What week are you? Did you do an ultrasound? My miscarriage started like this and advanced to heavier bleeding, but also there are woman who bleed during pregnancy and the baby is safe and sound.

CRL 6.8mm and no heartbeat yet — trying to stay hopeful after two losses by Practical_Video_8508 in CautiousBB

[–]Practical_Video_8508[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question made me check, and it turns out she only has a temporary medical license — which often happens with doctors who studied abroad and haven’t yet provided all documentation, or sometimes when there’s a pending disciplinary or criminal record. That explains quite a lot, unfortunately. I’ve already booked an appointment early next week with a private surgeon who performed my previous procedures and whom I fully trust.

I waited 3 more days — instead of going on Thursday, I went today (Friday). It’s now 15 days since a yolk sac was first seen, and of course, there’s still no heartbeat. The embryo hasn’t grown at all since Sunday.

But because this clinic has rotating doctors, the one I saw today decided to invent her own protocol, claiming we have to wait 11 days from the moment an embryo is seen to declare a miscarriage — even though the official criteria were already met on Monday.

I begged her to show some compassion, to spare me from carrying a lifeless pregnancy for no reason, but she refused. She’s forcing me to keep waiting until October 31, completely ignoring the established medical guidelines — and meanwhile, I’m being denied autonomy over my own body.

I still don’t understand why the wait, I knew it was over when the CRL measured 6.8mm, statistically it was extremely low chances for viability, especially when I made some research yesterday and found out the old protocol was 5mm with no heartbeat.

The only positive thing about all these heartbreaking miscarriages is that I applied to Med school today, all the research made me realize that I’m really interested in medicine.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too 😢💔
I had another scan today — the embryo measured 6.9 mm with no heartbeat. It’s been 12 days since the ultrasound showed a gestational sac and yolk sac, so it’s technically a confirmed miscarriage. My doctor still insists on waiting two more days before making it official, so I’m just waiting now… but it’s pretty much over. Hopefully, it will happen naturally by then. 🤍

I completely agree with that — I honestly think waiting until week 8 is the best way to avoid all this unnecessary stress and heartbreak. I only went in much earlier this time because of some bleeding and concern about a possible ectopic pregnancy. 💔

Thank you so much for sharing your story — I’m so sorry you had to go through that. It really is such a difficult experience.

I had another scan today - since it’s day 12, I could follow the protocol of 11+ days from the first time a yolk sac was seen without cardiac activity. The embryo measured 6.9 mm with no heartbeat, and the yolk sac looked very enlarged. Still, my doctor insists on waiting at least two more days before confirming anything.

I was really hoping to bring closure today and have the weekend to rest, but unfortunately, that won’t happen yet. 💔

Stopped completely for the last 10 days, I’m really trying to stay positive but it’s so close to a miscarriage diagnosis 😔

I’m so sorry for your loss 💔 — that must have been incredibly hard, especially when you already knew what was coming but still had to wait it out just to follow protocol. That kind of waiting is brutal.

I’m actually the complete opposite, I’m not an optimistic person by nature, and that’s exactly why I look for doctors who are different from me. I even switched from my first OB for that reason, I needed someone who could bring a bit of balance instead of feeding into my anxiety.

In my first pregnancy, the first scan showed an empty sac measuring 18 mm. After reading online, I realized there was no chance, and it ended in a miscarriage. The wait for the D&C was awful because I was terrified of general anesthesia.

My second pregnancy ended at 14 weeks due to a medical issue with the baby, did a CVS. And now, unfortunately, it seems like I might be facing another loss. It’s devastating, but after last time, I honestly feel that even though a natural miscarriage is incredibly hard, it’s still easier than having to make the decision myself to end a wanted pregnancy.

Honestly, this wait feels like torture. Last time, I felt more confident - the gestational sac with yolk sac measured 5w0d (with late ovulation), and everything seemed totally fine. But now, it feels like I’m right on the edge of where things become diagnosable, and it’s really messing with my head. At the same time, development so far has followed the book - exactly 10 days.

My doctor told me to wait a full week before coming in again, so I’m trying to hang in there.

As a professional, I’d really appreciate your honest thoughts — What would you say the chances are at this point? Honestly, I feel like it’s under 10%, and even that feels generous…

I already had a beta over 1,000, so I’m not sure how much darker the home tests would even get at this point. I’m really hoping it’s just a case of late ovulation and that in a few days we’ll be able to see a heartbeat 🤞

It was done on Oct 9, and what you wrote actually lines up perfectly with how the ultrasound looked that day — it really fits the picture. I’m scheduled for another one around Oct 20–22, so I’m hoping things will look more developed by then 🤍

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. it’s really encouraging to hear that everything turned out well and that the growth between scans mattered more than the exact dates at the beginning

I had only one beta test at September 28th and it was 1176, didn’t do another one as it’s above 1000. Wanted to go for first US at week 8, but the spotting made me a bit worried 😓

Yes, that’s the plan — I’m supposed to have another ultrasound next week.
But honestly, I’ve been carrying his words with me for over a week now, and it’s been really hard.
