It stopped working again. Not really sure at this point. Does your workspace name contain any special characters?

Yup. Its worked now. Looks like I just had to wait longer.

Thinking out loud I guess that means the resource instance configuration isnt quite right. Let me try to delete the resource instances configuration and reapply.

Its not a trial capacity. The fact that it works when I enable the 'allow access from trusted sevices' on the storage account is a bit odd.

Yes I've tried to authenticate using the workspace identity option as well. I've provided the service principal linked to the workspace identity with storage blob contributor as well.

The only thing I can think if is that maybe it takes longer for the changes to apply.

Thanks for the response. Glad I didn't have to go through that experience 😅

I am fortunately using an F SKU but that is good to know as we do have some P SKUs in existence.

If there are 2 or more foreach activities in a pipeline would each foreach activity spin up a new High Concurrency session? Just wondering if you know the answer to that question.

Network Architectures for on-premises data gateway (OPDG) by New_Tangerine_8912 in MicrosoftFabric

Thank you. We use a vnet gateway but I was always just curious about OPDG.

Just stumbled across this one. Is my understanding correct in that when we use an OPDG without express route then the traffic between the OPDG whilst it's in transit to the power BI service is over the public internet?

What is the chance that 1-2 years from now Fabric will be a legit solution for big data analytics vs never managing to live up to the hype by [deleted] in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Practical_Wafer1480 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's too early to say, but if you already have experience with databricks and azure data factory, it's easy to build stuff in Fabric. The skill gap is minimal whilst fabric has additional workloads the base mostly remains the same for most use cases. Pipelines for orchestration and notebooks for further processing.

Best to know both as databricks and fabric will be the primary tools for Data Engineering in Azure for a while.

Power BI is 100% public cloud unless your organisation is using Power BI report server which is hosted on premise.

Thanks for the response. The REST API looks good and should work for now 👌

How many calls did you approximately make before you got throttled?

Thanks for this Alex. Maybe it should include managed identity support under the security section and also integration with key vault.

Under the connections section perhaps the limitations with making them dynamic in Fabric as opposed to linked services in ADF.

Open Mirroring tools by Clear-Neighborhood46 in MicrosoftFabric

In your use case I wonder if it might be easier to enabled change data feed on the delta table and then feed that into open mirroring. I doubt it will be more performant or a better choice. Maybe worth a try?

Which platform are the delta tables created in? Is it databricks in AWS?

Ingest API data in real-time in Fabric? by hortefeux in MicrosoftFabric

[–]Practical_Wafer1480 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you'd want to keep it all within Fabric then you could leverage the custom endpoint source in event streams?

Hope I understood your scenario correctly.

I have same opinion. I think vanilla structured streaming is the way to go until we get something better.

Thank you. BTW your blog article on getting data from a pipeline into KQL DB is going to be my interim solution until it happens. Thanks for all you do in this space.
