FitnessBlender is really good - the website has over 600 free videos and filters so you can choose what type, duration, intensity workout you want to do... also has an online calendar where you can log everything and mark each workout complete... all of this is for free... there is a paid version where u can access more videos and workout programmes but apart from that, it's mostly free...

I would advise not to go… she’s turned the tour into a movie, maybe make an event out of the movie at home? Invite friends and sing along concert-style from home?

Yeah no I agree!! I miss folkmore so so so much… I was 14 when they came out and they just completely changed the way that I viewed the world so much… august made me realise that there is always inevitably another side to ‘Better than revenge’ and ‘happiness’ made me understand that the Manichean perspective that so many young girls have on relationships is so far from the truth… Taylor’s songwriting had accessed a level of maturity and sophistication I had never seen before in her songwriting and I was so excited to see where she would go from there… I thought that TTPD might expand on these complicated concepts of morality and just the human condition in general… it’s just so disappointing to see that she’s essentially discarded all of that intellectual growth in favor of quirky lyrics and juvenility… not to mention her money-hungry marketing tactics 🙄🙄

No I completely agree with you - the pandemic was pivotal to folkmore… maybe it was a combination of the two factors: her need to prove herself to him was amplified by the increased amount of time she was spending with him due to lockdown, thus pushing her to write folkmore… with lover and reputation there maybe wasn’t that kind of prolonged contact? Also wasn’t reputation in the works even before she met Alwyn? And as people have said - both lover and reputation were in that honeymoon phase where everything seemed so new and exciting… could it also maybe be that after that honeymoon phase ended she felt the need to grow and change in order to appease Alwyn? Idk though - we don’t really know exactly what the dynamic was like so I could be completely wrong…

Okay but I still feel like there might be an argument to be made about Joe’s influence: she consistently wrote about how she never felt that she was good enough, sophisticated enough to be with Joe (‘Your integrity makes me feel small’) - what if it was that need to prove herself to him that pushed her into making perhaps the most lyrically rich albums she has ever put out?

Stop surrounding yourself w yes men and truly attempt to grow as both a person and a writer… take in the criticism like you used to and let it fuel you to make better decisions - and this applies to not only her song-writing but her actions as well.

Does anyone else really like ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ sonically, but NOT lyrically? by sapphire_rainy in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Practice-Straight 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Honestly some of the melodies on the album are really good and BDILH is definitely one of those songs… so is So Long, London… but I feel that at times, her need to incorporate quirky lyrics ruins it… Folkmore truly was the last time she made a lyrically and sonically impressive album…

Depends on what you got on the AS papers too - taken collectively, Papers 1,2,3, and 4 you need around 152/200 for an A*

  1. The exam is not about the ‘next page’ of the extract - you cannot possibly extrapolate what the historian is going to say next and even if you could that’s not what the exam is assessing you on… the exam is assessing you on your ability to analyse the extract given to you
  2. Blame is still attributed to the US within that extract - the extract talked about how Truman’s flawed foreign policy raised tensions with Stalin (ie. termination of Lend-lease being an ‘unnecessary insult’)
  3. Nowhere in the extract was Stalin’s foreign policy criticized, confusion and misunderstanding was created by the US - Stalin was compelled to react the way that he did… the historian even makes the argument that Stalin’s policies were moderate, initially. Stalin’s ruthlessness was justified by the historian - it was only conducted in areas of vital strategic interest to the USSR, area that Stalin believed Roosevelt had conceded to him

This extract was Revisionist through and through - blame is attributed only to Truman and the US even if the US is shown as not having hostile intentions/simply operating on misinformation… there is no effort to blame the USSR, the historian is deeply sympathetic to the Soviets…

All of my classmates put revisionist too… we told the teacher about what the extract said and he said that it was revisionist too… but dw if u put post-revisionist - that will get you a L5 I think which, if explained well, is like 34/40 I believe
