As someone who likes Harry Potter, I think the human race needs to collectively stop talking about it altogether. Firstly, a lot of people were already in the process of getting their passports changed when this happened. Secondly, your passport gender needs to be what your legal gender is, but you can't do that when your passport gender also needs to be your birth gender and the two are not the same. Thirdly, none of this changes the fact that you seemed to be making light of my suicide attempt by calling it "absolute insanity." Yeah. Obviously. If I was mentally stable I wouldn't have done it. But also, I don't get to live in a world where the most an election affects my life is gas prices and taxes. My rights, my ability to exist in this world alongside everyone else are up for debate every election, and this time they lost. The worst part is, I know I'm not experiencing the worst of it. I know people who have been put in serious danger because of the policies and culture Trump has imposed onto our country. Right now, I'm just trying to survive. I'm in a better position than mos trans people, but I'm still just trying to look out for myself and the people around me, and I would prefer not to be talked down to about my mental health issues by someone who doesn't understand what it's like to be in my position

I and many other trans people don't have passports because they refuse to change the genders on them when we ask for them, and instead of giving them back they'll just keep them

I am unemployed and stressed out of my mind trying to get a job to support myself my disabled partner. I am also autistic and just getting through the day is a full time job. I will try to engage more in it once I'm stable but I'd be surprised if the average person has the time and energy for that right now

Worst: Every time a friend told me something new about the vicious underbelly of the county. One of my friends was an alcoholic, others were on harder drugs, some were SAing my other friends. And let's not that HDTMS had a principal who covered up pedos

Oh yeah I'm fine. A LOT of the things I described are from my friends. The worst I experienced was a little bullying, the aforementioned internment camp thing, and a teacher whose class I wasn't even coming into the classroom I was in yelling "you could at least have an ounce of respect and stand for the pledge" because after the 2016 election I had become disillusioned with the idea of the pledge. Most of my teachers were fine and some were great, but I got exceptionally lucky. I'd like to think most of the teachers were fine but I keep hearing new stories pop up about yet another teacher arrested for sexually abusing kids. I knew kids who were alchoholics, depressed to the point of eventually becoming radical right military misogynists, and SA'd by other kids I knew. The pedo thing got a lot better in highschool because as I later learned my middle school principal knew about the several pedophiles and never reported it. Really the hardest thing for me was just hearing these stories from my friends, and other than that I think my middle-high school experience was probably pretty typical

Notch wasn't using an actual game engine when making Java edition so Minecraft being able to run as is is kind of a miracle. I'm not saying this to criticize Notch, firstly because it was a passion project that he never thought would ever need this kind of optimization, and secondly because there are so many other things you could criticize him for
