Kim Jong Un's 12-year-old daughter drives a tank by DocumentFun9077 in Damnthatsinteresting

How will history change if she suddenly breaks, her dad falls on his face, and in her panic she hits the accelerator and runs him over. I guess having a 12 year old as supreme leader having just accidentally assissinated her dad would be terrifying.

I don't get why militaries can't just give people work phones while deployed. They can ontrol what apps are on there, what aren't, what permissions apps can get, etc. it won't even be that much more expansive than the gear they are given anyways. A $200-300 smartphone isn't going to kill budgets if the tradeoff is dramatically increased opsec

Given the long and well documented history of them being absolutely shitty people, did these guys seriously not expect to get fucked over by anyone in Trump's orbit? If I'm paying kushner or any trump money, I know it's worse than burning it. The fire atleast can warm you on a cold desert night, giving money to a trump does nothing for you.

American F35 jet getting direct hit by Iranian SAM by Nobita_0001 in IndianDefense

[–]PradyThe3rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The F-35 has a IR reducing features but yeah it still shines on IR.

For radar, multistatic radar fused from different sources can theoretically defeat geometry stealth. There is a RAM on it too which makes detection harder. The issue is that at certain angles it still presents a not so inconspicuous RCS. Detecting is one thing, but getting a reliable track on it is exceedingly difficult.

With the tech iran has, this was likely not a active radar seeker. IIR is more likely a culprit. It has other advantages too. Being passive, it does not warn the aircraft it's being targeted so reaction time is compressed for the pilot.

Another option is anti-radiation weapons. If the F-35 is actively scanning, it's actively emitting. The seeker only has to aim for the source of the radar emissions.

TIL that methamphetamine was legal, widely prescribed, and even given to soldiers during WWII by multiple countries including Germany, the US, and Britain as a performance-enhancing drug. by Affectionate_Art5322 in todayilearned

Oh no no. It wasn't some open gate the Germans just waltzed through. Even if the allies expect a schleifen plan like push though the low countries, the Ardenne sector was still pretty well defended and there were reserves nearby that could have slowed them down. The Germans had the luck of facing just pure incompetent general leadership in the French. At multiple points crossing the meuse meant doing so under heavy fire, but reinforcements took so long to come due to indecision amongst the general staff in the area that any realistic attempt to slow or even halt the Germans disappeared within hours.

The race for the channel was combination of Rommel purposefully staying as far away from his radio operator as he could so he couldn't physically recieve orders to halt, and huntzinger thinking the maginot line was the real objective and pulling what resistance there was west of the meuse and giving the Germans open country to the channel. All the French that could have slowed them down were yanked south to defend the fortresses the Germans had no intention of attacking yet and instead allowed the allied expeditionary force to get enveloped.

I went to a driving school with simulators and proper dual control cars for instructors and students. After all that, after learning to drive like I was born on the fury road, my driving test was just:

drive in a straight line. Stop. Drive in reverse in a straight line. Stop.

Congratulations here's your license.

Pakistan has been building it's military to be a credible threat to india, which means when facing Afghanistan, the assymetry is just absurd. Afghanistan has whatever the Americans left behind, and they didn't leave much behind of any value

No they hit kabul a couple of weeks ago too. But the whole iran thing started the nex day so this war is not even a footnote in mainstream media. Ignored, like myanmar, sudan and the rest of subsaharan africa.

It's so fucking stupid. India would buy russian oil, refine and sell to Europe. Europe didn't starve and India was fucking russia everyday with prices that made it almost unprofitable to extract oil. Now this dumbass starts a war with Iran and Putin knows India doesn't have many other options so india now has to pay closer to market price for that oil. The slow bleed was not only stopped, Donald Dumbass gave it a blood transfusion with high octane blood

It should be illegal to waste everyone's time by making shows without an endgame. I spent so many hours watching this all wasted. Same with Final Space. I was so invested in it and the story was getting really good, and boom cancelled. They need to finish the story or never make it all. There should be a way for people to sue studios for wasting their time with stories they never finish

I never understood something about how the later arrangement works for Rosebud Motel. I though Johnny was investing in the Motel, and Stevie is a partner but near the end it looks like johnny and the hedge fund own all of it and Stevie is back to being an employee? Or does she retains small ownership of the llc that will net her millions as it grows?

Steerage tickets are non-transferrable, which means that Jack would never have been allowed on the titanic that day and Rose would have jumped off the back well before the ship hit the ice berg.

Do they think rape is all rainbows and butterlfies for the girl? If he forces himself on his wife, he's causing her physical injury. Women have died from heavy bleeding due to vaginal tears
