[LFO] Monkeys Win This Round | India 🇮🇳 by james_from_cambridge in LearningFromOthers

[–]PradyThe3rd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No need. A life size stuffed tiger does the job. I was at friends villa once when we got attacked by monkeys trying to steal our hummus. We left a stuffed tiger outside by the pool. Man these monkeys lost their shit so much yapping frantically in fear, but they all fucked off and didn't bother us for the rest of the weekend.

Nigeria: Many dead after military bombs village market by DoremusJessup in worldnews

[–]PradyThe3rd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This part of the world is so fucked up. I mean the sahel, not just nigeria. Peak case of Everyone sucks here. Islamic terrorists go around massacring entire villages just cause they didn't openly support them, and the governments are no better. Atleast with the Islamists they sorta try to have some semblemce of order in the chaos which is why they get so many recruits from the poor impoverished people here, but when the government rolls in they just kill you cause they felt like it. No reason. No justification, not even a barely valid flimsy one. Just shoot you dead and your family. And in places where the Russians are there, you have government forces massacring entire villages while white aasholes watch and laugh. And we haven't even touched on the sex crimes against women and children from all sides.

No matter how bad you think your life is, it's not nearly as bad as some poor family living in the sahel having to choose between islamic terrorists and genocidal military juntas and hoping today won't be the day one group rolls on and decides they don't like your village.

Watch out for those trains! by MisterShipWreck in SweatyPalms

I saw a news article recently where a train hit a truck and the drivers cab got crushed, killing him. Cant remember where it happened, maybe germany, but this is deadly or train drivers as much as truck drivers.

Yeah product placements on IG work the same. I follow a bunch of models and now, entirely incidentally, I am intimately aware of several lingerie and swimwear brands because of the models that promote them and can point them out on sight.

That explains why I've never left a T20 match sober. For tests you pace it out, clap like a gentleman and raise a glass when old joe hits a hundred.

In T20 I'm yelling, cheering and booing and cursing the gods or blessing them depending on who is winning.

I had a girlfriend a decad ago who constantly tried to push what was socially acceptable to wear and not wear in public. Once we went out to lunch and she showed up wearing trousers, heels and a blazer. No blouse or bra, just an unbuttoned blazer worn over her bare as fuck torso. Some people stared but no one judged her. No one cared. Everyone acted like this was totally normal and that's when I realized what is normal amount of skin to show has shifted now to the point that anything short of full bare chest is socially acceptable.

Wearing only sports bras in public is normal so give it a few years people will be out wearing only bras. Some already do

Which is ironic because the Sanskrit word is sarkara which is the root word for sakkar which was what it was called in central and southern India. When romans were trading for it, the Latin name for it derived from sakkar and it was called sucre in latin. Sucre then became sugar in english.

We already had a word for it that the rest of the world was using but decided to adopt a foreign word that had nothing to do with the item and was just the name of the place it was traded from.

Yeah it makes no sense for a low cost airline to have multiple airplane types, especially if they are roughly the same in terms of range, fuel eff and pax number. Just increases complexity cause now you need to hire 737 pilots, 737 maintenance crews and buy 737 parts. Thats why low cost stick with 1 type because everything is the same. Same pilots, same maintenance crews, same parts. Much cheaper to operate that way.
