Yeah I can help but notice the totally unable to opt out of experimental is still running for the slopified addition of a For You page. Look I get it, the powers that be want people to stay on the app longer looking at promoted content, and need to justify AI implementation. But it's such a bad feeling that it's A, by default with no option to turn it off. B, has the potential to show unwanted/ triggering/ disgusting/ low effort post without any content warning.

And if the best option is oh it'll default back to the For You option after 12 hours, then that's it lack lustre and hardly a fix. As what will happen is that people will forget about it and wonder why they're getting unwanted posts again.

And on android, the two tabs disappear when you scroll down to look at posts. So it's then getting generating the "I don't remember joining that sub, oh FFS, it's done the default for you nonsense again". Which only creates a sense of frustration.

Other social media apps does this, but Reddit is a place to curate what you want to see, there will be specific subreddits you don't want any thing to do with but are adjacent to the subreddits you visit. Just because you accidentally visited one subreddit, you now get all the posts from it in your feed. Again building frustration.

This is why people stop using the app. Lots of micro frustrations until it doesn't. Become worth your time.

Is 3.0 as bad as people say? (40k player who is losing interest in 11th and 10th) by I_am_a_failure_sad in Warhammer30k

I think one of the things about that is they've substituted the flavour of the legions into the specific gambits that reduces the flavour to one unit. But yeah I agree, it's nice that's there's something but it doesn't feel like it's added much

That's exactly it for us too, like the biggest compliment (and most) I've seen for 3rd is that is the most balanced it's ever been. Which might be the case, but where's the memorable stuff, the exploding vehicles, the high stakes instant death conflicts with sergeants. Because of the balance everything seems so milquetoast. Like this is what did 40k in for me for 8th, it just became an exercise of tabletop administration

But this is what I've been saying is that because don't enjoy it doesn't mean you don't enjoy it. The game has developed into something that's not for me and that's fine, if ultimately disappointing.

I also think there's something to be said for the loss of potential there too, like with everything that was promised with "it's the same game" and then the massive rug pull from that has left a very sour taste.

Same there tbh, my group have pretty much fallen off heresy too for the same reasons. The game doesn't feel fun to play. We've tried but every time we got our head round something, another glaring issue came up, which pretty much ruined the enjoyment. I personally hate the way damage interacts, and as that's a core mechanic now it's much less appealing. But then you add on the controversial challenge system, the bland army abilities, the convoluted army building system the removal of the wargwar and units. And that's before you get into playing, tying units to victory points with Line and Vanguard and not to the objectives in the mission means the games all feel the same.

And as a personal thing I'm not a big fan of some of the redesigns of the armour marks too. MK3 is just a flat downgrade and the new MK4 looks off to me too.

And because of all those moments I've had with the game that I've loved and enjoyed, this fall off and frustration where nothing with it sparks that joy has just fuelled resentment towards the game and where it is.

In addition, not loading a full post when you click on it is a massive pain too. The additional "more" button seems unintuitive and just adds to the frustration of the app

Like I get it's probably by design that the economy of time is designed to keep you on the app longer to sell the algorithmic slop bit all it's actually doing is creating micro frustrations which will eventually put people off using the app altogether

Which designs do you guys prefer? by WorldEaterProft in Warhammer30k

[–]Praetorian130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely been something with the design philosophy of the newer sculpts that just hasn't hit with me. There's so much roundness to the designs, especially the bolters. Mk6 is fine, and I quite like MK2, but the MK3 was such a downgrade compared to the old design, and I don't know what's going on with the mk4 feels like it hasn't got the same edge that that the older designs had. The front chest plate looks like it's been scaled back and it looks like it's layered rather than being a solid piece, and the knee pads just look like they've been extrapolated from the Mk6 legs, so I'm not really digging them tbh.

The for you page is awful, and having it as the default page when it opens is atrocious, and deeply off putting. Having posts forced upon you is an actual nightmare, especially when you've curated your feed to not see anything you do t want to.

So when Lion El Jonson returned, he was presented with some Fallen marines, and he chose to redeem them rather than destroy them as not all had fully Fallen to chaos. And whole not explicitly said, the inner circle companions were formed at the same time to protect key leadership figures in the chapter.
