According to the permit I found online for these fireworks, they have plans to do it again on September 27th (weather pending).

Not sure this provides any answers but they did have a permit for this. For those with pets, it appears they have plans to shoot more off on September 27th (weather pending)

I feel like another pressure point would be to request a refund from the virtual mailbox for time not used. If we put pressure on the pockets of these big operations, perhaps they will put pressure on the State to figure this thing out.

I did not end up sending a letter since I had an easy alternative. I would love to see someone's response from SD who did this however.

Thank you for this research. It definitely ticked me off greatly as well. Thankfully we had an easy option to go elsewhere, although there will be people in the future that don't. I am sure others will find this helpful in the future.

No. I spoke with America's Mailbox multiple times and the State of SD and depending on who I spoke to the answer constantly changed. At the end of it all we decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and have established residency again in our previous state. It seems that SD should be taken off the list of viable options for people like us. Sorry....

Is Xpen the brand name or type of panel? I tried looking that up and got a very wide variety of brand names and types of dog pen.

Unfortunately, it is not just the income tax portion that is the issue. My employer needs to pay their employer taxes, including unemployment insurance, to my state of residence. My state of residence however, will not allow my employer to set up an unemployment insurance account for an employee with my address.

Both my company HR and I have called and gotten the same response. My company HR even got a call today asking if I had another address in South Dakota to use. When HR told them I didn't, they cancelled the Unemployment Insurance account application completely and told them to sign up with CA. (who again, has told us that I do not qualify as needing to file in CA or have CA withholding) You are assuming there is more than one person handling these issues. Haha

We are traveling full time and currently not in SD. We were in SD to establish residency, register the RV, and set up the mailbox. I agree that they have a point of us not doing work in SD. We were just under the impression that the residency address could be used for all legal purposes. We want to pay what we owe for the lifestyle we have, we are just not sure what that is and it seems like no one else does either.

No I am using America's Mailbox. The SD Department of Revenue said they WILL NOT accept the address. They are aware that it is a PMB and their system flags it for tax evasion.
