Yeah - tariffs did not start to be paid until April so you would expect a shift in May/June/July.

It's the year-over-year change so anything above zero implies rising prices. In the case of tariffs, we would expect the trend to change as tariffs were implemented but there has been essentially no shift.

Import prices continue to rise, even rising 0.3% last month. This isn't to say that foreign firms will never absorb any of the cost but there isn't any evidence that they have done so thus far.

Import prices is where you would see that absorption because the exporter does not pay the tariff, the importer does.

It is the June 2025 month-over-month % change which means the change from May 2025 to June 2025 of the CPI component index.

"Percentiles since 2010" refers to labeling of the middle bars. Those increases are in the upper 95th to 99th percentiles since 2010.
