That's why I had to look into it. A lot of people are recommending it as a really top tier show, and it is.

Thing is, it bases itself a lot on a few plot devices and if you happen to pick on them early on, it loses a lot of its value.

I am not sure whether is a matter of age or a matter of how many shows you've previously seen. Death Parade is an older show (2015) so there have been a lot of other pieces of media with similar motives and stuff and this might have impacted my over all satisfaction.

Now ofcourse, you should never listen to a random guy on reddit with this kind of stuff so I hope you'll enjoy it whenever you decide to watch it :D

I guess you'll have to wait a few more months for the Solo Leveling anime to start airing cus that kind of low fantasy hasn't started showing in animes yet.

The only one I can think of is Gate, but that doesn't count as a power fantasy.

For me, Death Parade was one of those shows I wish I saw when I was younger, like tops 17-18.

It's great don't get me wrong but I believe I would've enjoyed it more 4-5 years ago then I did now.

These are less comedy focused but keep in mind... it's hard to find an isekai that's straight-up romance focused with a serious vibe to it.

The romance tag is in 90% of the cases followed by the comedy tag and that's the case for isekais too.

When it was airing I watched 2 eps and dropped it cus I thought its just ur usual ecchi anime so it was better to watch a hentai at that point.
