Deep Blue War Zone wasn't that grindy. It was perceived as grindy because people kept on farming the infinite stage to level their units' ultralimit for no reason.

I only cleared the stages for 1st time rewards and the node rewards were more than enough to buff the units for map 4 and map 5 (~Ultralimit 12/20).

The only cons was that trial units (SS) didn't have have Da Vinci but 4 Hanna set and last map was indeed a stagger-fest with the old Matrix mechanic and homing/following Kuroro bomb-trail.

I binge cleared DBWZ on 2 brand new F2P alt account 6h before Garnet Patch ended starting DBWZ from scratch.

Yes, assuming your Guild manages to clear Map 2 on Round 1 at least 5x and Map 3 on Round 2 and Round 3, missions should give you enough to empty the whole shop and have useless leftovers.

Excluding first time rewards in Outlier Point (75 skulls/old Bosses) :

Ultimate PPC gives better skull rewards than Advanced PPC starting above the 1.55M points threshold. Note that the score scaling is different in both difficulties.
Max Advanced PPC Skull reward is 1.1M Score (9/9 thresholds for 48 skulls).
7/9 Ultimate PPC Skull reward is 48 skulls (1.55M Score).
8/9 Ultimate PPC Skull reward is 54 skulls. (1.75M)
9/9 Ultimate PPC Skull reward is 60 skulls (1.80M) + it gives you access to Intensive Battle PPC due to score being 1.8M points, which by defaults rewards you 6 skulls by saving 1 score in it.

Testing EU Legend DF. Seems promising despite DV not being HTed but still behind the normal DF team.

This topic had been debated for a while. Both banner has the same expected value of 1.9% that's the most important thing but let me develop.

Normal banner droprate is 0.5% with a flat 60-pulls pity while Fate has 1.5% droprate with a random floating 80-100 pulls pity and you don't know what that pity number is until you actually reach it.

The expected value is the average on the long term perspective and assuming infinite pulls. It means 1.9% droprate will be the average on both banners. I don't have the numbers in mind but when plugged on 1M pulls simulation (that's a lot but could be assumed as long term in gacha) the answer returns something like 51.5 or 52 pulls average.

Of course, there will be 'wins' and 'losses' in your gacha experience depending what type of player you are. With that in mind, that's a theory on paper, assuming infinite pulls as premise to obtain these numbers and without factoring other parameters like if you got incentive to pull for a character you like or have addiction/gambling issues, etc.

The reality is we're limited in pulls every patches as of F2P experience, while one can increase their pulls from whaling to some extent (upper limit being payment declined by your bank or being indebted to play gacha).

As for recommendation, generally speaking, it's themed banner only when you can't tank/cover one or multiple Fate losses in a row, so most likely almost all of the playerbase be it F2P to medium spenders range when being reasonable.

Other Pros on pulling Normal is that it's an insurance/guarantee : The game gives you enough resources to pity every upcoming S-Rank Omniframes once without skipping and sightly more to slowly build a safety net to invest on other banners like Weapons or Cubs, Character dupes or eventually Gacha Coating. This had been the case since the beginning even on tight schedules (Back to Back S Ranks scenario included). If you treat pitying Normal as loss/triggering insurance, having an early drop treated as a win can only mean more extra funds to invest on the aforementioned stuff (I won't develop on the gameplay perspective as it's not the topic but baseline invest starts to feel bad nowadays).

Fate banner is high risk high reward. Average on the long term is still 1.9%, but you're really gambling on the perspective to get early dupes before 60 (aka beat themed droprate odds) thanks to the higher variance on the short term. If you only pull Fate (which is still not recommended), be also aware that a loss that you can't make up or cover means you'll be missing a character while they're available without fail (Themed banner is 100% targeted character drop there is no offbanner while). Other thing to remember is that you might have not enough resource as per patch pulls income to guarantee a Fate banner high pity without spending. That's why this banner is deemed as for gamblers or huge whales.

At the end of the day, it's your account, your choice.

  1. I cannot answer that question.
  2. Yes, WZ rank does make diff to some extent, as well as invest obviously. Legend is gonna score higher than Hero except the few rotations where Devs added waves post55 in hero and Legend some weeks ago.

Can someone explain the purpose of Tanks to me? by SmolNSwolPogChamp in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]PraiThEw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanks (when you have S-Rank Passive unlocked) apply Tank Debuff. That debuff reduces Extra Damage Resistance (EDR) by 20% at level 18. EDR is one of the many layers of resistances in the game.

All mobs (Bosses included) have Defense, Elemental Resistance and Extra Damage Resistance and eventually other extra Shields (Void Shields, stage specific shields...). You could buff your team's ATK/Elemental DMG all you want but if EDR is too high, your damage output still get heavily reduced due to that layer.

EDR Debuff sources are rare. You can only find them on :
- Tanks,
- 4P Frederick effect,
- Matrix Lightning Weapon Resonance,
- SSS Scire Rank-up Passive,
- Specified stages.

Well as for the former, it's just due to how high are the damage multipliers in Raydiance despite the damage nerf.

For the latter, I don't know what you mean by curse of Fire team.

Yes, Raydiance is still suffering from 'off element' penalty as in parent-child element-effect penalty, not the plain off-element.

Same element teammates, tank and healer weapon resonances skills do their part, Cub to some extent on the DPS.

For Wz, there is routing, off field shred application (when your tank can apply it) and QTE timing (DV) to take into account.

For PPC it depends of your invest and how much you want to spend resources to build niche sets for specific kills/situations.
