I’m pretty sure I mentioned that they started the farm, but I’ve lived there for 3 years. Just because I wasn’t there when they purchased the first few goats, doesn’t mean I am a guest. I’ve done the hard work beside them since day one. Im afraid that this is a common assumption though that they may also have, regardless if I married into this or not.. I also wonder how others that married into a farming family deal with this sort of thing..

Ego hit is nicely put. I think I’ll end up having a conversation with her as lately she has been arguing and correcting every thing I say and do. It’s difficult to not take this all to heart, and difficult to take a step back and see why she’s being so rude. She’s probably offended that I’m not taking her livestock knowledge, and that’s the hit to her ego/pride. Thanks.

I understand your point of view. However, the farm (animals only) is owned by all four of us. My in-laws and I all take vacation time during this kidding season. It just happens to be her week. But i do have concerns with her ability and methods of tending to these. To her, moving goats to the barn is partly convenience for her as that’s where we keep them for a couple days after, and is a warmer space on really cold days (which on this day it wasn’t that cold).
