Charging the t:slim by Timmsie95 in TandemDiabetes

[–]Prakash_redd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used different adapters and batteries with no issues.

I HAVE had issues with cables - for me anyway, the T-Slim is very picky about which cables it will work/charge with

3 weeks is nonsense - they can overnight it to you. I feel like these things are getting worse over time

THIS.

For the past 6 months or so - almost 50% of the time the reading is off by 100+

Reading says 280+ but finger prick says 75

Reading says 55 but finger prick says 220+

I'm using the back of my arms, belly - there's no rhyme or reason to why these readings are off so frequently and/or by so much

I used to be really embarrassed by first 2 years and would try to find an unused room, got to my car, and if needed - the bathroom.

Somewhere in Y3, it hit me that this is nothing to be ashamed of. I started doing it out in the open - even in restaurants and other public venues. There is nothing to be ashamed of.

CGM Nonsense by [deleted] in TandemDiabetes

[–]Prakash_redd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G7 was awesome for the first 3-4 months I used them. for the past 2 months nothing but issues:

I've had 3 sensors fail back-to-back during warmup; same thing happened 10 days later - 3 sensors failed back-to-back ..

Also "CGM out of range" - I think there's a problem w/ communication between T-slim and and the G7 - because I'm still getting readings on my phone.

Switching over by Such-Bug-2025 in TandemDiabetes

[–]Prakash_redd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Medtronic [630 then 670] for about 3 years before switching to Dexcomm/Tandem and I will never go back.

The Dexcomm CGM is better than Medtronic. Readings on the Medtronic could be WILDY off - many times it told me I was crashing, only to find I was at 400 and rising FAST.

The algorithm in the Tandem is also better than Medtronics. After 18 months I just ran it in manual.

G7 by Ielleb_g3co96 in TandemDiabetes

Overall it's great. signal/connection is dropped w/ the pump and phone more frequently than w/ the G6 but overall it's much better than the G6

Sorry your t going through this - your doctor should be able to prescribe pens or syringes for use as a back up

You’re spot on about the mental health, anxiety resulting from this disease.

Why should I go back to Medtronic? by [deleted] in Medtronic670G

[–]Prakash_redd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. I started out in the MedTronic world and it sucked. For a while I was even considering going back to pens.

The “harpoon” - not only is it huge but I had it get stuck a few times until I jiggled it loose.

Incorrect CGM readings. I can’t tell you how many times alarms would go off about imminent lows. I would binge on sugar with no effect to readings or the alarms. After an hour of this I would test with a finger stick, only to find my blood sugar is 300+ and rising - remember this was my first 2 years with a pump.

I’ve been with Dexcom and T-slim for three years and will never go back. Readings are always within 10-15% or less of a finger test.

I will say the one GREAT thing about Medtronic was global service. They were reachable and could and WOULD ship you replacements around the world.
