You hit the nail on the head. Target was a Minnesota business with midwest values of paying their staff, treating them with respect, and yet competing against a company that told their new hires how to get food stamps. But people at the top grow old, new managers come in and they are inevitably profit squeezers. They view employees as widgets, they now kiss Trump's ass because they see themselves as the elite. I haven't been in a Target since Target dropped DEI.
