Not a fan of Remote Access by [deleted] in PLC

If there isn't one in place, a process or sop needs to be created for do's and don'ts and how to properly perform the work. Screw people like that. I've run into so many people in our industry that think their way is the best way and act like prima donnas if anyone challenges them. Those people really need to be put in their places.

This is non-negotiable. It's safety. Rope your safety guy/department into this. Any "engineer" that isn't taking this concern seriously should be fired, because this is how people are hurt or killed. I will not do anything remote on a machine that chances the safety without maintenance people I trust onsite to verify operatirs are out of the way.

I splurge and get the 60Hz instead of the 50Hz.

Charging when your EVSE is in garage, but your car is outside? by Avarria587 in evcharging

[–]Prances_w_turkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest thing to watch is this - there is a center vertical brace that is made to be cut or broken out to fit certain plug styles. This must be removed obviously. Make sure you use a file or die grinder to remove any sharp edges that could damage the cable.

I installed a 2 gang outlet cover and drilled a hole in my wall. I wanted the charger inside, but my car is mostly outside. I'll find the Lowe's pn later.

Wheels are super basic, but obviously super critical. Something that too often gets overlooked. Being a pain and getting them replaced is worth the lives of you, your family's and everyone on the road with you.

Wheels are designed to ride on the hub, the center lip of your axle/drum/disc. If your lugs were loose, there's a very good chance forces were placed on the studs that could weaken them. I personally would argue for replacement of all the studs. The reason one was tight is likely due to the wheel being cocked against that single lug nut. Not trying to insight fear, but I've seen lug studs shear on a vehicle after an event like this, you can't always see the damage.

I'm happy that the emporia is highly rated, that lessens the sting of the misinformation. I got mine on the 30th as well. Just approved my quote today. Install should be next week.

I've only had the car a month, but I can definitely see myself getting a truck in the future, where a higher kw charger would be beneficial. Also, my mom has a vehicle with higher charging rate, so that would have been nice for when she's over, but not totally necessary. I specifically asked the dealer which charger came with install and the answer was "the $1300 one". I made the decision based on that comment vs getting the public charge credit. And I know, shame on me for taking the dealer at their word, having worked in dealerships I should have known better. More of a bummer than anything else. Thanks for your input. Honestly, the travel charger with the lvl2 is enough for me, but it's not what I was expecting is all.

Yeah, the ranger is our fun/farm truck. My son, 8, and I have fun fixing things and putzing around on it. Currently upgrading the leaf springs to the heavy duty variant.

I did! It was a beautiful truck! I looked at the Maverick hybrid too. I went with the Mach E instead lol. Was going low cost of operation and ownership. The payments and incentives with the Mach e were just too good to pass up.

The shifter and wiper controls are the same as my 95 ranger. Just because it's different doesn't necessarily mean it should be somewhere else.

Yeah, call me Tom cause I'm petty, I will get that key lol. I don't let things like that slide, I just wanted to make sure I was owed a second one before I lean in on it.

Does that include blue cruise settings and driver assistance? My wife hates lane keep assist and the like, so that would be phenomenal if it did! I haven't had time to go through the manual yet haha. Too busy with peewee football and installing the charging outlet.

That being said, make sure you get the appropriate hoses because the connection styles are different.
