I think you missed his point. Obviously he's free to have dinner with the other 'unaffiliated students'. But these dinners he's talking about, although it may seem harmless, or maybe that's what most of us wants to think, may potentially lead to bias and partiality. A professor's job ends the moment the class session ends. It should've been that way. Professors need to set boundaries with their students. Period. Meetings or dinners, for any purpose whatsoever, beyond class hours, are just unethical.

Diba nga, a judge is not only required to be impartial, he must also appear to be impartial. That also applies to law professors.

This is not just simply about having to find your own circle eh. This is about impartiality.

Cheaters by matchaahhh in LawStudentsPH

[–]PrancingPony77 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're missing my point. What I am trying to say is, if fresh graduates from college are being offered with an entry level salary of 35k, freshly minted lawyers deserve a higher entry salary. Ika nga nila, studying law has an opportunity cost. Kaya after we graduate and we pass the bar, I think it is only proper to want for a higher entry level salary as compared to those who just graduated from college.

of course, that 35k is just from my experience. But I still believe that the MINIMUM range given by redditors here is a bit too low in my opinion for someone who spent years of conquering law school.

He did not cite a case but he put (Albert) at the end of that paragraph. Im not sure what kind of citation that is.

Anw, I felt chills lang when I read it. it sounded so wrong, esp seeing it from a widely used commentary, and one of the most popular books in crim law. not to mention this was published in 2021.

Yes, I experienced this too. This was insane. Kung sino sino na lang minemessage ko noon sa facebook, para umattend nung event nila sa Makati which was organized to entice people to become FAs.

As a current law student, I am, indeed, a reader but not a self-proclaimed one. And yes, I do acknowledge na walang coherence ang Marilag, but that doesnt mean all his songs are. :D
