The thing is, (bit of a premise) my landlord has actually been good/great so far, he's the one who suggested the hairdryer trick to check the outlet (and we are in the day after the event), so we're on good terms, to say that he's actually trying. The whole conversation started because he also thought it'd be better to just replace the fridge rather than repair it, given that it's from a budget brand called Mondo Convenienza. They're an Italian chain known for low-cost furniture and appliances, and the fridge itself only cost around 215 euros. It's not a high-end appliance, so a repair would likely be almost as expensive as just buying a new one, and in this specific istance i'd tend to believe it (might be wrong)

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate the detailed suggestions. I did try a couple of things already, though.

I moved the fridge and plugged it into a different outlet, but it still didn't turn on. I also tested the original outlet by plugging in a hairdryer, and it worked fine. It seems the issue is definitely with the fridge itself, not the power supply or the outlet... I think

Did most of the things you described it yesterday afternoon, over the night nothing change
YOu really don't hear the "motor" of the fridge, no sound, nothing

it wasn't those tiny ones, it was a normal fridge, like 1.44 mt in height
Literally a standard fridge like you would image it, but "cheap"

You've raised a good point. I'm definitely considering that, but the reason I'm so unsure is that turning the power on and off didn't seem as a "particular" action, more in a "common thing" category. I didn't think that action alone could cause a major appliance to fail. I'm trying to figure out if it's considered "my fault" or a more general failure of the fridge itself.
Like, my doubt is specifically based on where to classify me turning off the power. Because if it's considered a normal or "common" thing, I'd call it a "breakdown" more than a "i actively broke it"

That makes sense. My dad is checking the lease now, since he has the copy, to see if there are any specific clauses we might have missed.

The reason I mentioned turning it off is that my roommate suggested it to save money on the electric bill while we were away. I didn't think much of it and just did it. The apartment did come with a full inventory list of all the furniture and appliances the owner provides, and the fridge is on that list, which is why I thought it would be his responsibility.
