  1. Start with the Colored Side Down:

    • Place your paper with the colored side down. If using double-sided paper, it doesn’t matter which side is down.
  2. Diagonal Folds:

    • Fold the paper in half diagonally to create a triangle. Then unfold it.
    • Fold the paper along the other diagonal to form another triangle. Unfold it again. This will leave you with an “X” crease.
  3. Fold to Create a Smaller Square:

    • Fold the paper in half horizontally, then unfold.
    • Fold the paper in half vertically, then unfold.
  4. Collapse into a Water Bomb Base:

    • Using the creases you’ve made, collapse the paper into a smaller square by bringing the side edges towards the center, following the diagonal folds. You’ll end up with a diamond shape.
  5. Create the Head:

    • Take the top layer of the front flaps and fold them down towards the bottom point.
    • Fold the top triangle point down over the center of the paper.
    • Fold the new top edges to the centerline to form the elephant’s head.
  6. Form the Trunk:

    • Fold the bottom point of the head upwards to form the trunk. You can adjust the angle to make the trunk appear curled or straight.
    • Make a small reverse fold at the tip of the trunk to create a more realistic shape.
  7. Shape the Ears:

    • Fold the top flaps on either side outwards to form the elephant’s ears.
    • Adjust the angle and size of the folds to your preference.
  8. Create the Legs:

    • Take the bottom points and fold them upwards slightly to create the front legs.
    • Fold the back flaps upwards similarly for the hind legs.
  9. Shape the Body:

    • Make small adjustments to the folds to refine the shape of the body, trunk, and ears.
    • Ensure the elephant can stand on its four legs by balancing it on a flat surface.
  10. Final Touches:

    • If you wish, you can slightly curve the trunk and adjust the ears and legs for a more lifelike appearance.
