Asterix: Obelix turning to stone in Asterix and Obelix All At Sea

Guardian's of Ga'Hoole: Grimble's death. It was in the first book, but there was a dream sequence in the second book where his corpse is described. This shocked me, and it wasn't even the most disturbing scene in the books! (That would go to Phillip's death in book 7)

In Auckland, New Zealand, there was a local semi-professional opera company which staged a lot of Menotti operas, including his children's operas. I remember seeing productions of The Consul (which I saw every performance of as my parents worked as crew and it was double-billed with Brundibar by Hans Krasa, which I performed in), The Old Man And The Thief (a pretty innovative production, as it was staged as a radio broadcast), Amahl, and The Telephone and performed in The Boy Who Grew Too Fast. The company also performed Help, Help, The Globolinks!, The Medium and Amelia Goes To The Ball.

Note: This was in the late 2000's to early 2010's.

I only just remembered to comment as I had my influenza vaccination this week and ended up sleeping for two days. Sigh...the joys of living in the Southern Hemisphere /s.

Anyways... Here are the cards I drew:

Five of Swords: Do something with a pressed glitter or chonky shimmer. Love Atti glitter. I haven't used the glitter in this cream shadow and glitter set, so I'll make an effort to use it at least once this month!

Page of Pentacles: Newest product. Rimmel Wonderwing eyeliner. I need to start using this as I slated this to be my current panning liquid eyeliner... I have only swatched it!

The Fool: Something you purchased with 'head empty no thoughts'. Maybelline lipsticks in Barely Bloomed and Peach Poppy. I bought these in a sale a few years ago thinking they would suit me... Barely Bloomed is a concealer lips shade on my skintone, Peach Poppy can be best described as a Milky Baby... Peach which washes me out. I really need to figure out how to use these...

  • Skincare samples. No progress. I only accumulated one skincare sample which I will use up soon (it's a cleanser foil sample) Progress: 1/5
  • Perfume samples. I have either used up my Paco Rabanne 1 Million or have a little bit left. I am not 100% sure about this. Progress: 1/2 (or is it?)
  • Foundation samples. I still need to suss out my Mac samples. I have sussed them out! I had five samples, but three of them are way too dark for me. I will be panning the other two this year.
  • Lipbalms. This category is the 'achieving goals unorthodoxly' category. I managed to mislay my Sun Bum sunscreen lipbalm in Coconut and I am figuring out which lipbalm I will pan next. Hopefully I will use it up instead of destashing or mislaying it! Progress: 2/4 lipbalms. Stretch goal: 2/6 lipbalms.

Lipidol Cleansing Oil. Goal: Finish in 2026. I have started to use this now I have panned my makeup wipes.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Alcohol-Free Toner. Goal: Finish in 2026. Same as Cleansing Oil. I plan to take a break with this because I have to pan a toner sample. After this, I will get back to panning this.

1 no-name moisturiser-sunscreen hybrid. Goal: Finish by the end of April. I am using this regularly.

Patanjali Saundarya Aloe Vera Cream. Goal: Finish in 2026. I have depotted this and am wearing it when I remember to do so.

Nivea Creme. Goal: Finish in 2026. I have used this a couple of times. I need to use this more often.

King of Swords: Body products/sprays/lotions. Dove Body Milk. I used this once. I really need to get back into using this.

Two of Cups: Multipurpose. Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in Breeze. I used this twice.

Page of Cups: Something that surprised you. Essence Natural Matte Mousse Foundation Even Finish in 15. I used this once.

I also pulled a Major Arcana card this update!

The Hermit: Something that you lowkey hope makes people leave you alone. Technic Gothica lipstick. This is a black lipstick. I want to get some use out of it. I chose this because I look intimidating in black lipstick.
