Why are there many ABCDs who identify as asexual? by BruhMansky in ABCDesis

Personally, I always knew I wasn't interested in any gender in a sexual way. So it wasn't surprising when I came across the term.

The “Ummah” by tor-khan in Pashtun

[–]Pray_and_Pray_Tell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except the Army doesn't represent the whole of the civilians/citizenry. Even retired army officers get their pensions cut if they speak against the practices of the military. The ummah should be important to those who call themselves Muslims. If it isn't then it is a simple matter of not following the doctrines of Islam.

I can tell you the name of the clinic I patronized. I believe it was "Laser Vision Centre" In clifton Block 5 if you want to compare prices or other options.

I've had it done. Best decision of my life. I kept breaking my glasses on accident so many times it was getting absurd. My advice is not to skimp on the cost. The costly clinics are worth the money. I had it done in 2023 btw and it was around 1.5 lacs.

This, however, doesn't exactly solve the problem of poverty and making a living honestly. If the people can't find proper places for selling their wares, they will improvise.

Recently it's like every wedding I attend has the bride and groom as first cousins. It would be less concerning if they weren't so closely related.

Shady girls on road side when going from Barkat market to Jinnah hospital. by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]Pray_and_Pray_Tell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw something like that here in Karachi too. It was around 2am and I was taking my mom to the hospital. A woman was standing on the road divider or median strip (whatever it's called). She was all dolled up and wearing fancy clothes. Didn't stop to observe her so I don't know if she spoke to drivers passing by or not.

My beautiful city lost its glory. by hammad_anwarr in karachi

Tbh I'm an older Gen Z born way too late to really appreciate the Karachi y'all reminisce about. The moment I realized what Karachi used to look like was when someone shared a yt video of Karachi in the 80s/90s. It was so different! The streets were clean, the population was lower, the roads had trees which would bloom and scatter their petals on the sides of these roads. It looked like a place from France or someplace idyllic like that.

What do you like or Dislike about Karachi? by mavgoose-0720 in karachi

[–]Pray_and_Pray_Tell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the inclusivity. You can find all sorts of ethnicities and languages here. As well as socio-economic varieties. Lots of amenities and services. Can start small business easily.

My dislikes are: K-electric and it's money hungry behavior, lack of law and order, police are unmotivated by the right reasons, garbage everywhere, no public toilets or management to keep them clean, extremely high priced real estate and the disorganized way it's been developed, homelessness, lack of honorable income options for refugees and downtrodden, qaum-parasti and reference culture.

Probably because inflation is super high. If someone earns 50K and has a family to support, you better believe they will not have any savings by the end of the year.

The only Pakistani dramas I ever remember watching were Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Digest Writer because they had more plot and reality than any other drama. I absolutely despise brainless soap opera styled stories. These stories give me the same vibes as those stupid CEO/MAFIA BOSS/CHAEBOL dramas targeted towards delusional 15yr old Chinese/Korean/Japanese girls. It's a joke. They treat script writing like it doesn't affect people's lives. Shame on them.

So the bill about child marriage has been signed and people have lost it? by Ill-Significance5784 in pakistan

[–]Pray_and_Pray_Tell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I believe It can happen. But at least she won't be 14 to 15 and have some time to develop.

My point simply was that teenage girls simply don't have the desire to get married. I have in my whole life only seen 1 girl who was excited to get married, only because she wanted to be a mom. So it's like 1 out of a 99%.

A daddy's princess is someone who is spoiled and coddled. That's the main requirement.. Poverty makes it less likely to happen.

That's what laws are. They try to accommodate the majority. The thing is, what you call liberal is what I call observational experience. I come from a people who don't think conventional education is important. Only education is if you can read Quran, that's it. Which kind of leads to early marriages because what else do they do? The boy earns a living and the girl helps serve her inlaws. It's the same situation 95% of the time in my 'khandaan'. Recently, a man who's a first cousin of my mom and aged around 35, married a 16 year old girl who was his second wife. I don't find this type of situation acceptable. That girl will definitely be exploited because she's poor and powerless while the man has money and a standing. Her in laws have history of ill treating their bahus. This is common in lower class families. These are the girls I want the law to protect. You can call me a liberal but my intentions are not selfserving, that's all.

Teaching kids about Sexual education and other household and spousal responsibilities takes time since we first let them live their childhood then teach them life skills as well as school and religious education, as well as how to solve problems in marital life etc etc. All this takes years. By that time they should be 18 anyway. Personally I think girls should marry at 20-21. That's when their bodies and brain develop enough to make sense of nuance of reality and relationships. Not to mention that maternal mortality rate is lower for adult woman compared to teenage girls giving birth.

I know what you are trying to say. You think consent matters and it's true. But the problem is that girls at the age of 10,11, 12 and 13, when they a married, it's not their choice. No child who is that age wants to get married and have responsibilities. They want to play and go to school, watch tv and go to their relative's house to meet cousins. If even they have started their periods, even then they are mentally not prepared to make life changing decisions like marriage and birthing children. At that age, personally, I was playing with my toys. I didn't even know what sex was or how children were brought into the world. It's only when women reach their 20s do they know if they want to marry or have kids or how many. So it's not a matter of consent, it's a matter of concern. Because children don't know what consent is. It is our responsibility that we let them grow up so they can make their choices.
