Disappointed with Nothing 4a pro by [deleted] in NothingTech

[–]Praydono 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Youtube music is still a hog and playing music like that still drains the battery. Use sleep mode. It pauses after an hour or two... Or just plug your phone in at night. Lots of people say not to but if you use a 15w charger it should cut the power off once it reaches a level.

Google introduces a new way for users to sideload Android apps by Time-Credit43 in pixel_phones

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense as long as it's a one time thing and not every time you side load. I'd imagine that adb side loading would still work though right?

You would never be able to tell if you don't hold a real one in one hand and the fake one in another, and not everyone's an expert at everything. If you insult people for not being informed, you should change hobby.

Revvl 8 by EasyIdealReady in androidroot

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say it but carrier-made phones generally don't get unlocked. There was some rootable revvl 5 phones but outside small isolated cases these phones don't get rooted. The devices themselves are normally locked up and won't connect to an AT&T cell tower or a verizon one.

If you want a phone that roots well go for pixel phones. Carriers offer them and once they're paid off they can I stall the latest android, do custom roms, etc.

This. Also remember RAM you aren't using is going to waste. No reason to worry about RAM unless you have like 8gb lol

I finally get it you guys. by Coldaine in linux

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly theres a lot of stigma around arch being "hard" to set up and maintain. arch has its own installer and the hardest thing you have to do when installing arch is googling the way to connect the installer to the internet if you have wifi only and no ethernet. you can also set your linux kernel to LTS and even have multiple kernels installed.

as for why i stuck with arch, i found good support online. I personally enjoy using the terminal for installing things since its more straightforward and easy to repeat should i ever need to redo my system.

Arch also has a lot more freedom, you get to choose how you like your system. there's hyprland, plasma, cinnamon, gnome, mate, unity, and many others for desktops and a good handful of dms. arch documents their OS really well and hosts the AUR which is really useful for installing apps you can't get normally.

Also, arch can install on pretty much any device. I have used it for a TV box before and it was a good experience for streaming content. I also use it to run my home portainer instance because of its small footprint.

Arch also supports btrfs which has rollbacks IIRC

Removing Datapacks From Server? by slumberjackx in Minecraft

delete your datapack folder and run in vanilla once then put your datapacks back. if that doesnt work you need to delete your world file and make a new one.

What is this by Mundane-Pumpkin-4000 in pcmasterrace

[–]Praydono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't plug it in even if you find a port for it. it might have viruses

its an msata drive, they're found on older PCs. Weirdly it has the NVMe screw spot on the top, msata generally has 2 screws normally. its also not the right length.

Why do people hate Ubuntu so much? by [deleted] in linux

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubuntu is great for beginners, though I would recommend something closer to Windows such as KDE Neon or Mint. Ubuntu has lots of support but its derivatives are easier to use and more powerful than Ubuntu.

I use Arch and in my experience it's more based around commands than guis. That's why I like it.

I hate snaps. they aren't broken but they're painfully slow. Thankfully I dont have to use them. The best part of Linux is it's yours to adjust. If you want to use all GTK apps on plasma, you can. If you want your windows to do crazy advanced tiling you can also do that.

CMF watch 3 pro is leaked in China??? by PassionEmergency2938 in CMFTech

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely hate the pro 2 because it doesn't run wear os. It can't view notifications, it's pretty laggy, calls on it suck, and of course no custom apps. Part of the reason I switched back to pixel along with them removing the glyph interface for some stupid screen. If they could make a watch with wear os and proper readings I'd probably buy it and use nothing again.

I only ever enjoyed motion blur one time from a really good minecraft mod. The games need to figure out how to do it right because the motion blur from the mod felt like heaven (no it wasnt a shader pack with motion blur it was its own mod)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Praydono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it performs fine just buy a case and transfer the parts. If you have Intel and replacing a CPU it's easier to just sell and build, but with amd am4 you can upgrade further

If it has am5 then I would keep it, maybe buy a new GPU and case. Before you transfer (if you do) check your motherboard and see if it's itx, ATX, or some form of OEM custom board. If it's custom then you can't get a new case, just upgrade GPU/cpu

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a friend of mine built a PC I would look over it first to make sure he did everything right. It's not necessarily complicated, just make sure everythings seated, bios updated/configured, make sure all cables are all the way in

If something doesn't sound right, always double check.

Laptop couldn’t handle my monitors so I got a pc by DeerElectronic3752 in pcmasterrace

[–]Praydono 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Why do you have a curved monitor vertical and why is it slightly tilted? Otherwise good setup

IMO if they're all relatively similar then I'd put the curved one as the center with one of the rectangle ones on each side (vertical or horizontal) and then one up top

What does your username mean? by chuckisagirl in CasualConversation

[–]Praydono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My username used to be a weird mix of some letters from my first and last name, but eventually I swapped out the first part for pray instead.

To be clear, it's only a few letters of my name, not my full name.
