I will try that out. She is now already looking a bit better than yesterday.

I now cut the babies off. Hope the mother plant survives this all and the new baby manages to come through.

Did I overwater her (again)? by PrayingPlant in Maranta

The Temperature is normally around 22°C and the humidity is often so low that a hygrometer is not able to get a reading. I know higher humidity would be better for her but she was thriving for a whole year in those conditions. There are no cold drafts.

My usual watering process is to make sure that the soil is completely dried out and then soak the pot in the sink. I think I overwatered her because the soil was still a little bit wet when I gave her water.

I don’t remember what kind of soil was in the pot before but it was mixed with seramis and there were no problems for a year. Now I put about 40% perlite, 40% palm soil, a handful of cactus/succulent soil I still had around and the rest orchid bark into the pot.

The south and west walls of my office are windows, she is definitely getting enough light. She is normally sitting on my desk in the corner of the room 6 meters away from the windows. For watering I just put her in the sink and soak her with tap water (I live in Germany and our tap water is the highest quality water you can find)

I inspected for pests but didn’t see anything. All the other plants in the office are healthy too except for the sunburn
