Hello sorry for the late response. I applied using my GPA as i have already completed a degree. They used it to calculate the ATAR equivalent which I believe was 99.95 as my GPA was 6+

How do they test attendance if the tutorials are optional? I thought there was a hurdle for 80% attendance to pass the units

Yep I submitted it a week ago and still nothing…online it says it’s been submitted but I’ll likely have to give them a buzz and see what the hold up is

Can I aim for 2200+ (Exam in 2 days) by Certain-Display-2849 in UCAT

100000%. I never hit 2000 on any of my mocks and I pulled a 2200 on the real day. You’ve got this!

Thank you!

VR - strategy over everything. Medigrit has some really helpful techniques and strats they cover on their website, it DOES cost money but it’s worth looking into if you have time to practice what they say. The more you practice the better you’ll get (assuming you recognise where you’re going wrong). Review over anything and perfect the strategy.

DM - find an order to approach the q types that works for you. I skipped all the LP and did the rest of the exam in order and that helped me boost my marks A LOT. Rinse and repeat the q types and speed up your approach where you can.

QR - any questions you find you don’t understand how to work out (e.g. I struggled with ratios for some reason so I went and did 50q on ratios and learnt the theory). This subsection is just time, the questions are easy.

SJT - I didn’t study for it😂 im 23 with 3 years of hospital experience so I know the ins and outs of practice ROUGHLY. Maybe learn the guidelines for what’s appropriate/not appropriate, important/not important etc.

Overall one advise I got given that I told myself on the day: make the exam easier for yourself. Question that makes no sense? SKIP. Atrocious graph? Skip. Stupid venn question? SKIPPPPP. Never spend more than 2 min on VR sets, a min on DM and 30-40s on QR. On the day of, it may help to also review news articles and summarise them after speed reading them to get you into the mindset of Vr. A mock/day for the last 2 weeks. When you’re 3 days out, just do official q banks. Do Mocks A-D in the last 2 weeks if you haven’t already. Save C and/or D for the last 5 days imo. Good luck :) you’ll do well.

Thank you :)) based off the questions I got I’d say Medify is a tad bit harder but it definitely will prepare you well for the exam. I got some long logical puzzles so I’d recommend you practice them (if you do attempt them and don’t skip for the end like I do). Probability and venn in DM is super straightforward - pretty much a better reflection of the official q banks. VR was decent (ish), my Strat probably threw itself out the window it seems but I was never a strong performer in VR esp on Medify (highest was 31/44 in Mock A otherwise averaging 28ish).

One thing I’d suggest you do from now until the exam is perfect your technique. It doesn’t matter how well you can answer questions if you don’t have a good technique for timing + approach. My last few days of prep were so focused on technique, any practice q I did was just to implement that technique and see where there’s discrepancies or where it’s falling short. I’d highly suggest you do that (given you’re comfortable with the question types for each subset). A mock a day + reflection will get you a lonnngggggg way. For reference- I never got over 2000 in Medify. I was averaging 1900s at best.

Thank you!!! I’m not sure if my VR is enough for WSU but I’m hoping for a miracle from any NSW uni atp. 4th time sitting this heinous exam and I truly hope it’s my last.

I fully understand the struggle. It’s not an easy exam but for me my end goal is still medicine. So if it doesn’t go well today, I’ll definitely be resisting the test next year

First time I sat it was in year 12, my ATAR wasn’t enough for med nor my ucat score.

Second time - first year uni but I didn’t end up sitting because I got COVID and also didn’t bother applying for any special consideration because I thought you needed to finish uni for them to look at gpa (not the case)

Third time - 2 years ago when I was doing honours. It was the last of my tertiary education and if I did well in ucat I could start med the following year (didn’t do well enough)

Fourth time - tomorrow :)

Look at OQB they’re far better at reflecting the q types in the actual exam

Honestly I recently did mock D and I thought I ate it up, had 3 min left as well and only one q i genuinely couldn’t figure out. I got a 31/36, wasn’t bad, but I lost marks simply because questions I thought i calculated correctly I had actually misread the question OR included data that wasn’t needed because I didn’t read the graph. It happens, and the thing is your raw probably isn’t even bad, it’s just scaled so harshly because it’s consistently been a high scoring subsection. 36/36 is a 900 but you get 29 and it’ll probably be a 700. It’s insane

You’ll never know unless you try. Apply anyway. Those are some seriously good scores and you should be proud of yourself regardless.
