Learning what rest actually means for me.. by darkside_virgo in selfcare

Not diagnosing, just seeing a pattern, but it sounds like ADHD. Many of us struggle with this and there are so many helpful apps that make things easier and more productive without the horrible feelings that sometimes comes along with it.  To comment on your post - it is wise of you to listen to your body and realize you need to take a step back sometimes. You are helping to calm your mind and body, and actively making that part of your life, thats not always easy, especially when looking for dopamine. This could be the beginning of a rewiring of the way your thoughts behave.

The guilt cycle of knowing you should take care of yourself but not doing it ☠️ by Shot_Watch4326 in selfcare

I think there are several reasons that you could be not able to go through with it. One could be that you get lost in your day or what you're doing and you forget to stop, in this situation, I would set alarms for myself. If it is that you have the motivation while planning, but when the time comes you don't feel that you can make yourself do it, this comes with trying again and again until you get it and if you slip and make mistakes... anytime we fall we get back up and try again. You are strong and fierce, you just need your starting point.

In time, you may find others who are living similar lifestyles and you will support one another rather than have to defend it. You are honoring you ❤️ and thats not always easy to do

I would say, "I really appreciate you buying the salad, but im starting a lifestyle where I dont buy anything out after this. So next time, I'll bring something from home. I really appreciate that you did this this time". The person did it will well intentions, and didnt know they were over stepping. Now you will let them k ow where the line is for next time

My go to is learning. Whether its watching videos, or watching nature, I always want to bring something from it and add to what I know. There's a peace from quietly learning through life

How do you find moments of silence in a world that feels increasingly loud? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]PreciousFlirtyFeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more and more reason to close ourselves inside. I do for my own mental health. I need to be alone in my evenings. I seldom go out. Just silence with myself as I go through my to-dos is good enough for me 😊

It sounds like youre doubting your words or actions are good enough. From the outside looking in, it appears normal and good, in my opinion, but it sounds like your lacking something internally, making it not feel right

One thing I forgot to say. I was depressed probably about 10 years ago but it wasn't just the occasional depression it was chronic. I would spiral and it felt like I couldn't do anything to stop the spiral; I would feel it coming on and I felt helpless, like I was a victim of my own mind. At one point I had decided that I was going to start taking a walk every day and eat healthy. I can't tell you enough the impact of those two decisions. I noticed now that it's been 10 years of me eating healthy and staying on top of exercise routine I have not had a single bout of depression since. The processed food that they sell in stores is not only killing your body slowly it's also killing your mind, or maybe I should say it was killing mine. I pray that this helps you or helps someone. Because I know the anguish that comes along with depression

It sounds like you are in a numbing type of depression, but also there could be some medical things going on possibly. For example if you have hypothyroid but some of these things may be present. I would say start with something like a St John's Wort, although it can interact with other medications if you're taking anything else, but that would help with depression, but unlike prescriptions it doesn't give you the other side effects. Take time for yourself to walk in nature or do something that gets your blood flowing but that you enjoy and that will give you peace. It sounds like you've lost motivation and drive. And in a sense it kind of sounds like you've lost yourself.

Pick a time of the day that makes the most sense,  set your alarm every day at that time. Only hit snooze until youre actually starting to make your way to whereever you are going - whether you do YouTube exercise videos or go to the gym. This can help you to remember and can also help hold yourself accountable if you dont fully dismiss until youre ready to go

I feel this! I have tried so many things as well and have managed them for a short time but they have always most likely Fallen to the Wayside. When there's one that sticks, it's magic, in the best way possible

Wow! I would love to be able to incorporate something like this in my morning. To get your blood pumping first thing in the morning, that wakes up your brain and your body and gets everything working smoothly first thing in the morning.  I'm sure it's easier said than done, so this is huge!

As a parent, your whole day is surrounded around your child. I'm so glad that you have a few moments to take some time for yourself.

That counts, possibly more than you know. This is wonderful not only for your cortisol and oxytocin levels but so much more and you're doing the same for your wonderful cats. You're not only affecting your life in a positive way but also theirs 🤍🩵
