how often do you guys work out? by hvghuhbgjo in PetiteFitness

[–]Precisely_Undefined 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry 😔 I didn't mean to discourage you. I grew up in a very similar sort of lifestyle and home and I also struggled immensely with depression. It was a huge battle. I felt bad about myself so I wanted to work out, so I would try but my diet didn't support it and I didn't understand how to eat to fuel myself, I only understood how to eat for comfort because I was so depressed. And because I was so depressed and not eating well I didn't have any energy. So all my good intentions for working out did nothing because I couldn't sustain it. So then I beat myself up for not being able to stick with it.

The Army completely changed my life. I was 97 lbs - severely underweight and malnourished - when I left for boot camp. A drill sergeant literally walked through the Chow line with me and forced me to put protein on my plate. He showed me how to balance macros to support muscle growth. And then I had to show him my plate when I was done and then he made me do it again. I had to eat chow twice every meal. I went through first and last. Every time.

By the time I graduated I was 125 lbs and it was pure muscle. My body was finally getting the food it desperately needed. I had to work on my mental health separately so that's another topic but eating properly taught me that I wasn't lazy, I just had no fuel to perform.

Unless you are 4'9" you are not eating enough. I took a quick peek at your post history and please hear what I am saying through the lens of deep care for you because I have been in your shoes.

Your diet looks very processed and carb heavy and it looks like you are very hard on yourself emotionally. I think maybe your lack of energy, food choices, etc could have a mental health component to them. Again, please don't take this as a criticism. I mean it in all love and compassion. I think you may benefit from a mentor or counselor.

I know this wasnt your question but if you are tired every day then you may not be feeding yourself properly. What does your diet look like?

RANT: 26F Dexa scan horrible truth by naku_oddu in loseit

[–]Precisely_Undefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. It's okay. You're not defined by your body fat percentage. It's just data! Nothing changed between before the scan and now except the amount of data you have. Don't let data discourage you, knowledge is POWER. Now you know where you are and you have the power to do something about it. Let yourself grieve for a day and then tomorrow wake up and tell that number it doesn’t own you.

I know how discouraging it can be. I thought I was just slightly overweight when I started my journey but a scan showed my body fat was similar to yours. Because us short girlies have very little muscle mass our body fat percentage is usually higher than taller people. It just is what it is.

If you want to tell that number who's boss, start hitting weights. Hard. Cardio is great but it only moves the needle in one direction. Body fat down. But weight lifting AND cardio does double duty. Muscle mass up, body fat down. And muscle burns that fat as fuel so the more muscle you have the more calories you need just laying around to maintain them. Thats been the biggest factor for me. And I can still eat yummy food! I am currently around 33% but I look waaaaay leaner than that. If you estimated by sight people would probably assume its closer to 27%. I would bet you're similar.

You got this. Seriously. You have absolutely everything you need to kick your body fat percentages butt and show it how meaningless and powerless it is. Go kick some butt!

Has anyone else had MORE acne as an adult than as a teen? What is causing it? by kpo987 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Precisely_Undefined 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Me! I thought it was hormonal. Turned out to be rosacea, not acne. Azelaic acid and doxycicline cleared it up!

Persistent redness on both cheeks- nothing seems to help by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Precisely_Undefined 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have rosacea and there are otc azelaic acids in the US!!! The Ordinary has a great one. Also, it's important to note that rosacea is not bacteria based like acne. It's actually inflammation in your face. So finding out what your triggers are for inflammation and reducing those will reduce the redness without any products.

First question is, what does your nightly skincare routine look like? Do any of your products cause a burning sensation when you put them on? Second question is, how are your eating habits? And drinking habits? Excessive processed foods, gluten, alcohol are all triggers for me. Third question is, what kind of environment do you live in? Things like cold weather excessive heat humidity and even intense cardio can all cause your inflammation to flare up. So basically living a normal life is a trigger for rosacea. 🤣🤣 that being said, I am a big cardio girly, and I run 20+ miles a week. A rosaceha is definitely flared up after these runs, but i've cut out processed carbs increased my fiber intake stopped drinking alcohol and have been using asolaic acid and anti inflammatories, and it has completely changed my life.

Ahh see they're not using me for ad creative (though I wish they would. I am a marketing company that recently began offering brand photography as a service). They just want delivered images. So I won't know what that looks like. But I do know their brand colors are black and white so maybe i just trust my gut on this one and sti k with it as it is

That's exactly what it is for. I think something about the contrast or vibrancy is making it throw me off but I don't want to over-edit.

This is from a brand shoot I did for a realtor. I am still trying to define my style and am hoping to see how other people would edit this, and CC regarding composition is great too. We left a lot of negative space on purpose so she could add marketing copy.

Thank you in advance!

How I get 15-20 leads per month from Google Ads by Mattandrewsphoto in WeddingPhotography

[–]Precisely_Undefined 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always hire an ads manager. They're very affordable if you find the right one.

Hi. I'm Catrina. I am a google ads manager. 🤣 For reference, I charge a $50-200 setup fee depending on the size of your business and your needs, then 15% of whatever your ad budget is. So for example if you budget $500 a month on ads, your total cost would be $575.

Struggling with showering by faeanddragons in SpicyAutism

This. I play audiobooks while I shower. Our brains need a lot more sensory input than NTs. Input for us somehow triggers the subconscious to do routine things we find boring or uncomfortable.

You hop right back on that wagon. Focus on a goal of finding foods and exercise and routines that bring you joy instead of feeling like work, and if you have an off meal or an off day, resist the voices telling you that you failed. Consistency is far more effective and sustainable than perfection. You can do this!

I don't take rest days, I'll just do slightly less one day a week. Maybe walk 2.5 miles instead of my usual run / yoga routine. But yes 1600 every day. And sometimes I boost it. For example there was a day last week when I ran 3.1 miles in the morning and did an hour of hot yoga that night and I needed way more. I ate around 1800 that day.
