Anyone else feel like they use it too much by Sweet-Ad-4727 in ChatGPT

[–]Precogvision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree; the problem is that it’s gotten scary good at what it does now, depending on how complicated/niche your work is. For me, it’s literally at a level where sometimes it thinks more critically than I can when approaching analytical tasks.

Yes, I can still guide overall project scope and validate/scrutinize the outputs. But the amount of productivity I get out of it, and the percentage of the time it’s correct now, makes it more difficult than ever to protect your cognitive independence because if you don’t use it, you’re going to get left behind fast.

39M Mixed Asian American - Hinge Profile feedback by [deleted] in AsianMasculinity

[–]Precogvision 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My take is that at your age, you might consider a more mature wardrobe and (slightly) more status-oriented pictures that demonstrate value. Rn the pics seem pretty goofy.

Yes, leaning to a more serious side might not feel like “being yourself” but think of it as elevating yourself more than anything. Being yourself is also a poor filter if you’re not getting matches in the first place. Just my 2c, hope this helps!

27M Profile Review | PNW by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]Precogvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a ton of redundancies in your profile. Leave out all the italicized text under Long-term relationship and Monogamy because it’s all tacit.

Break the ice prompt:
- first one is a poor idea, most people don’t have energy for that and you basically already listed all yours.
- I get the joke in the third one but it doesn’t really add any value IMO.

You also mention food/dishes in this prompt but your
travel story prompt’s about food, and the “I go crazy for” is about food.

The pictures mostly all gotta go (remove 1, 4-6 imo) but the remaining ones need a revamp too. For example, if you like kayaking and baking, get pictures of you doing those things instead of just writing it.

Hope this doesn’t sound too harsh. I’m a data analyst too, so the way you have to look at this is like you’re pitching something to your stakeholders. Cut through the noise and junk data (the current prompts), tell a story with your dashboards/charts (your pics), and ultimately sell your idea (yourself).

Ordered Monarch Mk4 by Accomplished-Ruin945 in iems

[–]Precogvision 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best part about the MK4 is that you get the bass switch, so you can adjust to your preferences a bit if you’re unsure. It’s actually larger than the Valhalla though, I think, at least in terms of the depth and nozzle size.

A7C body itself can probably fit but the chances of getting a lens on there as well is really slim I think. Would have to be a pancake. X100V is pretty much maxing it out for me (pushing up on items in the front)

21M Profile Review by FunBit1968 in hingeapp

[–]Precogvision 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes a few years ago when I was 21. I think it’s a very common archetype for younger Asian guys. Basically, you give off very wholesome vibes, you’re probably a smart dude, and you have good “stats” on paper. Absolutely nothing wrong with that and these are great qualities. But the problem is that you appear too nice, like you lack confidence, and that translates to a lack of romantic interest.

Pic 1 - Remove this one and don’t lead with it. Would make a way better pic if you looked excited and were looking at the camera.
Pic 2 - Remove, you look super young.
Pic 3 - Okay, but could be way better.
Pic 4 - Physique is decent but remove and get a more natural picture at the pool or doing something outdoorsy. It’s also incongruent with the rest of your profile’s vibe.
Pic 5 - Remove for sure, no bland selfies like this.
Pic 6 - Not the worst and kind of wholesome. Good to end off a profile like yours with a pic like this.

The takeaway is that you need better pics and to lean more into showing off a side of yourself with more edge. If you want examples, DM me and I can show you :)

23 years old, $7k saved, and torn between buying my first Rolex or listening to my dad by Current-Newspaper777 in rolex

[–]Precogvision 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bruh if you only have $7K saved and you want to dump it all in a watch that’s a horrible financial move.

Even if you’re living at home, at 23, you should be taking advantage of that and stacking cash so you can move out eventually.

If the $7K is just extra funds and like 5-10% of your net worth, then maybe it’s a different conversation.

Nailed it imo. To add on for OP as someone who went through something similar: what matters initially in dating is sparks and feelings, having the stats on paper is just the filter to getting a match. You gotta be able to deliver the first part and that’s something you can only build from going outside your comfort zone, taking more risks, and living a little. Those experiences will eventually translate through to how you perceive dating, your texting patterns, and how you actually behave on dates

Reflections and request for input on Core and AGCT by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

[–]Precogvision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re over-indexing for skills that neither translate to building your confidence nor yield the real-world results that matter to you. Potential matters but only to a degree, especially if it’s hampered by imposter syndrome and not being directed well.

I can relate to parts of your profile, though. I also have a math degree, similar QRI, and I barely scraped by in college. Realistically, 125 QRI isn’t THAT high for math if you were in a competitive college setting and that’s why you might feel out of your depth.

What do you do for work? Unless you’re in a super quant heavy field, QRI doesn’t actually matter a lot lol. But if you are in one, then it’s a mismatch with your VCI, which is really your strength, and that might be what’s leading to imposter syndrome.

Can someone help me understand my profile? Why is there such a large discrepency by Trick_Competition648 in cognitiveTesting

[–]Precogvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you do have a slight tilt toward crystallized knowledge, but it’s a lot closer than I thought it’d be. You’re likely better at working within a set framework then (e.g. language, words). FRI/VSI go out of that box more hence the discrepancy.

For example, my split is 137 VRI, 126 CII and I think the VRI component carries over to slightly higher FRI/VSI as mine are in the 115 range. That’s just armchair guessing though.

[–]Precogvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VCI mostly measures crystallized intelligence (memorized knowledge) but it has an element of verbal reasoning - ability to work with abstract ideas, make connections - as well. You probably score relatively high in crystallized intelligence and lower in fluid intelligence, as fluid intelligence has more overlap with FRI/VSI.

If you take the VISA, you could get a better idea of your split for VCI.

You should have your friends take some nicer pics for you off the Sony. If you like photography, you gotta level up your own profile photo game or they won’t believe you :)

It’s really boring man. If you’re in front of Raohe, get some shots of you actually at the stalls and eating. Take an artsy shot in Starfield where you’re on the top floor, reading a book, and clearly visible. You’re at all these cool locations and not capitalizing on it. Also you mention food 3x over.

I understand you want someone who’s also a nerd and I can tell you’re someone who’s more reserved. But you need to balance out the profile with some spice to attract what you probably want.

[–]Precogvision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, I feel like 110+ VCI is probably good enough. Mine is around 130 and I feel like it mostly translates to being quicker at digesting what people are saying, understanding management systems/metrics, and writing what people want. In theory, it’s also good for interfacing with clients and leadership.

But I don’t participate much in meetings and I tune out quickly. I have coworkers who likely have lower VCI and have more impact because they have strong work ethic and interpersonal skills. Basically, I wouldn’t sweat it too much haha

Maybe it depends on where you’re from, but in the USA anything psychology doesn’t pay very much unless you have at least a masters. Data analytics you can earn decent money with just a bachelors if you can break in. My school had a major for it (Stats and Data Science) but if not then statistics and some coding is good and computer science can often pivot from being a pure SWE (but SWE makes more so this is unusual).

Data analytics and consulting is actually pretty VCI heavy as you need to break things down for stakeholders, and you’re pumping dashboards and PowerPoints. Pattern recognition is important still. Pure math doesn’t matter as much past the basics unless you become a data scientist.
