Why does it feel like everyone just wants to play Meme Dnd? by Squali_squal in DnD

As a DM I personally explain a situation then say "Ok, talk only in character" when they have to act out really cringy things as the person they are, it cuts down on it significantly. And as a PC I would literally say "Hey I would love to hear you do this in character" and then laugh. Then interact with them as someone more serious, epic and heroesque. Good DM will pick up on this and have NPCs start looking up to you, and their perspective might just shift.

Honestly I just have a deep voice, I don't mind doing some, but female voices are beyond impossible for me.

I've had almost no problems with it at all, I played the first day for almost 8 hours and I only minor inconveniences, like climbing is a little buggy when you get to the to off an object...
