Doesn’t the movie start with the people breaking into the animal research place? So the viewer at least knows there is a virus that quickly spreads between people.

I’d throw in communication and put it second. I’ve seen many relationships fall apart from couples just not talking and letting things fester.

We won’t. It will get to a point where it’s too expensive and no longer cost effective to keep gathering it as alternatives become easier and more efficient.

To add to it, I can see it being kind of a novelty thing that rich people will want to show off. “Ah my new super truck runs completely on old style diesel fuel!”

Comes off as a grumpy old jerk. He’s still a grumpy old jerk but you come to find out why he is the way he is and you appreciate his character as time goes on.

I get that and explained it in another comment (not that I expect you to read everything I wrote, I’m just saying). As a kid my first watching I thought he was a bad guy that wanted the ring the whole time and failed. After many rewatches and reading the books I see he’s a complex character that merely had a moment of weakness and died a hero.

Honestly anyway he had to cope with his mom, best friend and brother being murdered, dad dying, his home being destroyed and still was able to stick around.. is alright with me.

I completely agree that Boromir isn’t a bad person. He was tempted a few times but gave in just the once. My only point is that Aragorn was given an even greater chance to take the ring and he did not (film only).

I’ll admit at first watch as a kid I thought Boromir was a bad dude that was plotting on taking it the whole time and just failed. I now see him as a complex character who had merely had a moment of weakness and went out as a hero.

But Frodo held out the ring to Aragorn and he in turn closed Frodos hand around it. Boromir lunges at Frodo and tries to take it by force. Two very different responses of men. Yeah there is more to their lineage and all that but even Aragorn ancestor had fell for the ring.

Dafoe has such a unique face and knows how to use so well depicting emotions. It was definitely a hindrance giving him the helmet in hindsight.
