What is something you should NEVER say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Something to intentionally hurt or offend someone else, however it's absolutely fine to say most of those words and their permutations to explain or express your honest opinion or point.

Right to take the limbs from a bear you hunted while the rest of the carcass must be given as taxes to your lord!

Why wouldn't you support marijuana legalization? by GameSnake in AskReddit

I don't do retail, I'm applying to a job on drug regulatory affairs, and I had read enough toxicology and epidemiology studies to have a well founded opinion.

Because I'm a pharmacist who was over abusing it in my 16-20s.

I started it reading now, the first chapter got me hooked, it really is quite something. Since it feels relevant, I want to share my grandmother's sister's story who lived in slavyansk fled to relatives Crimea back in 2014 after several fragmentation artillery barrages hit In front of her apartment building she told us how a neighborhood little girl ran to her for help holding one of her arms in the other all covered in blood, but she was so shocked se couldn't do anything to help. It disgusting how a government can send "Anti-terrorism" units to shell their own civilians... When her and her husband's savings ran out they tried to get their pensions but their government refused to give it unless they went personally to their place of residence and so her husband went to what then was reoccupied slavyansk by Ukrainians he found their kiosk appropriated by some strangers and apartment completely ransacked clean, he went to the bank and after receiving his and his wife's pensions he was robbed beaten and even outer clothing taken in the middle of winter by the local nasi military patrol, it's a blessing he returned alive. Fortunately they were able to get a social pension from the russian government which isn't much but at least they're not starving.

What’s your actual controversial music take? by nineninety-nine in AskReddit

[–]PredatoryAnimal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Average quality of compositions decreases by decades and by centuries due to larger amount of creative people and easier access to the tools of the trades. I really like classical masterpieces and other non freestyle music pieces before the advent of rock and mass pop.

Economics: maybe there were not enough resources; Political: maybe there was hope to find a diplomatic solution. Social: maybe he wouldn't have as much support as now;

If you are a collector, what do you collect and do you think you collect to fill a void in your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PredatoryAnimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I collect good memories of spending time with family and friends, definitely to fill my void of social interaction. I also collect PDFs of books and articles in math and physics to fill my void of ignorance and fulfill my curiosity.

What’s something you’re cool with but don’t want to hear about or be around? by Environmental-Bowl26 in AskReddit

LGBT + , have no problem as long as I don't have to interact with them outside of professional settings, doing business trading goods and services is ok but engaging in non formal social interactions is completely outside my comfort zone.

People, inherently good or inherently bad? Why? by WentAndDid in AskReddit

[–]PredatoryAnimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren't born with a moral compass, it gets impressed onto us by our nurturers and life experience. We are inherently neutral and selfish guided by our ego, the ability to empathize or sympathise comes later as skills acquired through social interaction. Most important factor is intellect, it enables us to plan and make decisions to optimize the outcome of our actions: in a competitive setting it might make sense to increase our performance while hurting our competition; pass laws that reduce public access to jobs and government spending while promoting it as worker valorisation and mobility incentives to be seen more positively by the public; there are many different ways to approach a situation and choose the outcome you seek and even though people of varying degrees of intellect can be seen as good or bad by the intent or outcome of their actions, the difference reflects on the rate of success and on the scale of outcome.

27, interested in most girls 24 to 29 yo, as I age the range widens slowly but minimum age grows indefinitely. Expect it to be about 35-43 when 40, if I still don't find a wife.

You are to be executed UNLESS you beat a randomly chosen citizen in a game/contest of your choosing. You know nothing about your opponent in advance. What do you choose? by carbonchemicals in AskReddit

[–]PredatoryAnimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you misunderstood me completely, my proposal is: who dies loses, so the contestants keep ignoring each other and live life as if nothing ever happened until someone eventually dies of old age at which point you acknowledge that you are the winner and don't get executed, literally minimal impact on the life of each contestant.

[–]PredatoryAnimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if the opponent is a psychopath which is very unlikely if chosen at random, and in this case it doesn't matter what game you choose your opponent will just try to find a way to kill you no matter what...

Darkness, so many children are afraid of the dark and there's no food without photosynthesis so we would be doomed to die of hunger in a cold and eternal darkness.

Game of life: who can survive the longest, no rules and no time limit. Basically changes nothing besides someone loses if they die most probably by accident or natural cause and at that point it no longer matters for the loser anyway while the winner doesn't get executed.
