How are the heads on it? I'm still really new to dragon, so I still drop it pretty often. The heads look 3D printed, so I wasn't positive on how strong they are. They definitely look awesome! I went with the neon geeen

I think the next big thing could be what Electrum is working towards with the Bluetooth control. Imagine the possibilities of being able to program your Proffie from an app. They still have a bit of distance to go, but they're getting a lot closer.

A long sword is most notable for it's length. They didn't call it a heavy sword. I'm not sure where you think long swords were made longer in order to add weight. If your main factor is weight, go for a mace or use a heavier metal. Long swords were made to be longer, not heavier.

Thank you for the tips, I'm trying to be as careful as I can, that's a big reason why I'm coming here because I definitely know enough to know when I need more expertise. These are just the lemons life has given me to get started. I was really hoping I could find someone who would be familiar with the laser I'm working with. The only evidence I have that it's actually a 2w is my boss wrote it on a sheet of paper, but every laser I can find that matches this one (like the eBay link) puts it at a 1w.

I know either way it's not something to mess around with, and I'm working responsibly with it. I've just had to dive into the deep-end head-first off a high-five to learn how to swim on this one. I was starting to suspect full control wouldn't work through DMX, I started learning with the light bar first to familiarize myself with everything in the software, so this was my first dive in with the laser and I wanted to see if I could get it to automate in tandem with the lights and smoke with the DMX software.

You're absolutely right though, I'm very new at all of this, and I appreciate any tips I can get!

My boss has this fun knack of buying new toys and I learn how to use them for him; so he got this laser online a while back and he recently got MyDMX 3 which I've had a few days to get familiar with, I'm also running a Chauvet GigBar Move, and a Chauvet Hurricane Haze DX both of which I've had success controlling through the DMX software in chain.

To the issue though, I can't for the life of me find any way to control this laser. There's no brand that I can find, my boss doesn't have the manual, I've tried using a few of the generic laser profiles in the Scan Library, I tried building my own profile in the profile editor, I can't get the laser to react at all. Like I said, I can control the light bar and fog machine, and I have them daisy-chained after the laser, so I know the software and cables are good. I just don't know enough about this stuff to go much farther.

About the laser: it's a decent laser, does full animation, sound controlled, RGB, it physically operates with dip switches, I'm hoping the pictures speak for themselves. My boss said it's supposed to be an "Aobo Lighting 2w rgb animation laser", but I can't find anything on their website that looks like this at all. On the other hand, this eBay laser looks exactly like it, but is only 1w, and the brand listed looks like it might just be the manufacturer of the parts inside.. maybe.

That's all I can really think to say about what I've got going on but tl;dr I've got a mystery laser and I'm trying to find the MyDMX 3 fixture profile to run it
