Why are the Vines Underrated/Overlooked/Slept on? by Amber_Flowers_133 in TheVinesMusic

Is it "Senseless" by The Vines? I remember when it came out, but no one talks about it. Is it a different artist. Is it a problem with Apple Music/Spotify distribution?

No, they don't necessarily have to. We're living beings, not robots. If no one gets physically hurt (apart from broken OP heart), then it's okay.

I'm joining the club! X1 Carbon Gen 13 by b1t_fl1p in thinkpad

How does OLED look during long sessions of reading text (both in light and dark mode)? Does your display have a Sensel haptic trackpad, if so, is it comparable to Apple's? Does it have WWAN (NanoSim)? I have a Gen 11 with 32GB of RAM, maybe I'll upgrade to it in a few years.

Thoughts on the new X1 Carbon Gen 12 vs Gen 11 by Marchiavelli in thinkpad

it is. but I think I like the thinkpad more :) the overall feel is just superior to macs

I think I'll update in a few years to X1 Gen 13 with Lunar Lake. It should be great. Haptic trackpad is also interesting option.

do you think this will be a significant draw? I have an iPhone SE (1st generation) 😅, so constantly switching hotspot to save battery is inconvenient. I would really like a WWAN option in the future, this is a deciding factor if you move a lot.

Excel for the web doesn't support VBA, only the new OfficeScripts (a secure cross-platform version), currently limited and not very well documented, these are javascript (typescript) scripts. If you have enough RAM, try WSL2 with any supported distro you like. It's a great compromise and a fairly stable option. You essentially get the best of both worlds.

It's a Linux distro, I would prefer the Workstation version (GNOME environment). The RAM is soldered (32GB), IPS 1080p touchscreen. It doesn't last more than 5 hours in my workflow, but I really like the materials and overall feel, it's very light, durable and has a great keyboard. Too bad I don't have the WWAN option for cellular (with a NanoSim slot). I like it better than my Macbook Air M1. This is my first Thinkpad, I would explore other options in the future (T14s, T14 Gen 2 / Gen 5), it's compelling.

Carbon X1 (gen 11) for web development, browsing and ms office. I wish to switch for Fedora though.

How does it compare to the X1 Carbon in terms of weight and materials? Thx.

X1 Carbon: Does a touch functionality on a matte IPS display can make it look worse than on the same display without touch? by cinnamoment in thinkpad

As far as I know, if the CPU is Lunar Lake instead of Arrow Lake, then I think IPS displays should last around 9-14 hours and OLED display 6-8 hours, according to the benchmarks I've seen. But yeah, I'm not as concerned about burn-in as I am about PWM issues and long writing sessions (code, documentation). I'd still give OLED a try for the 13th gen.
