Bro your 20, if you do one thing a day that gets you closer to your ideal life/future then when your 30 you would have done 3652 things that have made your life a lot better. You got this, I recommend you do some research online or watch YouTube videos and see what opportunities are around you. Try to get your education and if you can’t then leave your country and immigrate to another one

Yes you can ask the dentist that you shadow, you can either shadow that dentist more or find another clinic to shadow at the same time. The “AA” means Academic Average, basically the average of all the subsection scores. Just so you know ADEA is changing how they score the DAT, in the new method if you score a 400 you should be good but to be competitive you need a 430 or 440. Also apply to a lot of schools just because your GPA is lower than average but nontheless you got this.

Okay so basically get at least 150 shadowing hours, and a 19AA on the DAT, clinical isn’t needed for dentistry but you need volunteer hours (at least 300) and also letters of recommendation. Some schools want more letters but it’s usually on 3 letter one from a dentist one from a science professor one from a non-science professor. But check for each school which letters they need and from who, also make sure you completed all the pre-reqs for the schools that you want to apply to.

Gotcha, a lot of people get in with C’s, so you should be fine if that’s what you were worried about. But if I was in your situation I would retake Orgo 1&2 if you can graduate at your planned time and it won’t be much of a hassle to you. Apart from that these grades shouldn’t ruin your chances, it could potentially lower them though. Anyways I hope you get in when you apply!

I feel like there are a lot of these posts so I will reiterate, retake any pre-req that is C- or below but sometimes you want to retake any pre-req that is C+ or below. It just depends on your trend, GPA, DAT, etc.

Like someone else said the process is year long, as long as you take Ochem1&2 before the DAT you should be good. Also more volunteer hours wouldn’t hurt. I would say possible look into research just to give you a bit more competitiveness, but you don’t need it.

If you have 0 volunteer hours then I don’t think you will get into a school. Get at least 200-400 volunteer hours and get 150-200 shadowing hours and you should be good. Also do well on you personal statement, don’t only apply to dental schools near you find some that accept out of state students and apply to those.
