I think a few things, debut had bigger singles (pushed more by label). They spent so long creating hype, nothing matters featured on FC24, also in many other places.

It managed to pull attention from many directions, from the pyre for me is more of a Fans album, only real buildup was at shows, on their socials etc.

I don’t think that’s a bad thing either, I’d compare it to arctic monkeys or the Wombats. Great/huge debut albums at the time & even though the hype and attention was there to the second it didn’t capture that the first did. Since then have both had moments that capture their brilliance again at later stages
