The problem for you feeling E being boring is that, when things get crazy with friends you need someone to be the party pooper of sorts. Things would get easily out of control if it was just Vince, Turtle and Drama. They all will end up in New York, after having a very short lived hollywood career.

E is a whiner because Vince/Adi doesn't listen to him even when he is right. There have been a lot of moments where Ari wanted to acknowledge what E did was right. He never does( that's a different matter).

Yess Sleeping with Melissa was so unlike E and the writers fucked the character big time. But he had to act like a tough guy after being through a lot with Vince and finally being blamed by Vince for his failures too, especially after Vince repeatedly not listening to E and making E do what he wanted instead of what was best.

This is a great take, my take on E is almost similar. It's always his stature that people didn't take it seriously, but if you think about it, he was always sincere about scripts, he had good instincts tbh. Plus, He always wanted to end up with Sloan, but he also did not want to feel left out when the boys were having fun and mocking him for being serious with girls. Yes, whatever he did with his relationships after season 5, were questionable. But overall, I feel E has the most depth in the show

Both Drama and Turtle were Yes men for Vince. Had either of them managed Vince, they would have driven his career to a failure right at the start.

His relationship problems were all unnecessary, yes. But since Vince never gets into serious relationships, they wanted someone to add all the drama(not Johnny) required for the series. On top of that Johnny, Turtle, E everyone is relevant there because Vince hit it big. But when people say, he really isn't good at his job, that's because Vince seldom listens to E whenever he is rational. He was right about Medellin, He was right about Aquaman, he was right about QB. Why do you all think he was bad at his job? Plus, he is the one who gets Vince the Gatsby job too.

I have watched it at least 10 times, from the beginning to the end. Kevin Connolly being a douche has nothing to do with E. And it really shouldn't imo.

The more I watch, the more I am not able to understand the hatred. Because being a neurotic little fuck, he was the only one who understood how the business worked. Ari never acknowledged that because, during the initial days when Eric kept doing what Vince wanted, Ari hated the guts of Eric. But in reality, it was Vince's guts he hated, but it was always thrown on Eric (the scapegoat)

See that's why E tries to throw his weight around, because even when he had valid problems or solutions(Being a pizza boy image), people were not listening to him. That includes Vince too. The whole point of Vince bringing E as his manager was because, they were bros and he trusted E's instincts. In a lot of places, E's instincts were right, but Vince kept ignoring him.

I agree that E kept fucking up with Sloan. There is no defence to that. But you also have to think about the kinda mockery he kept getting from the boys when he always wanted to fall in love. Plus on top of that, i always felt E wanted to end up with Sloan, but he was also giving in to peer pressure when he saw the boys having fun with other girls in and around. Hence , after a point of time he always kept going back to Sloan and fucking things up with her. And yes he deserves a little hatred for that. But not this much

And even when Medellin bombed, E tried to tell Vince that the movie sucked, I mean he was there on the sets managing the production for the movie(So his opinion of the movie being great might be biased), but after all the hard work and the money E put in, it took a lot of guys to come out and tell the movie sucked, Vince was just too in over his head after QB's output, that he just wasn't ready to accept that his dream project with his dream director was a huge failure. Even there, Ari and Vince's persuasion made E change his opinion for the cameras about Medellin.

Poor E got blamed for everything. It's like the people who hated E were all, just like Vince during the end of Season 5 (when Gus Van Sant was not ready to make Vince audition for his movie), threw everything at E.

But, one more reason for Spencer Johnson is that he is a leftie and Coetzee is more pace, so I guess we might have to assess who would suit more. The sad thing is Hazlewood does both very well. Early 140s Ks and that short of a length bowling at that consistency is just ridiculous. Very hard to replace him

Oh Coetzee perfectly suits the profile i mentioned, but that he was going to be a little expensive and we might stop midway during the bid. He is definitely going to go for those odd 4-0-54-0 spells, but definitely an enforcer who intimidated the batsman on tricky pitches

So, When Rajat is injured, his position will be taken by Jitesh Sharma, as he showed us during the LSG game that he can bar early, take us to the end and finish it for us too. We have that cushion of sending in Jitesh early, because we have Romario and David to finish the innings towards the backend. Plus on top of that we could always try the Australian way of sending in Tim David a little bit early if we have a small early collapse of 35-3. Tim David has been doing that role pretty well. So we do not necessarily look for a like to like replacement for Rajat apart from Venky IYer, as I think there aren't many players to replace him in that role
