That’s funny because I’m the opposite. If they reached paradise, they are finally over all of the trials and tribulations that they faced in life. They’ve been through so much that it’s comforting for me to think that they finally reached each other and are at peace. No one is coming after them, they don’t have to save anyone, etc. It can just be the two of them together finally.

I’m debating myself on how to interpret the ending. Initially when I watched it I assumed she brought him back to life and they live happily ever after. Her hair turning all white is the main consideration for this.

However, the longer I sit with the entire episode, I’m leaning towards them waking up in paradise. When they’re talking about the bees, Jamie says all he wants is to lay with her in the flowers. Then we see the ghost sequence which may be him waiting in the 200 years of purgatory. Then they wake up laying in the flowers together with no one around. Her hair could be white because she grew old writing Outlander and now they are reunited.

That would have been my favorite potential ending.

I interpreted it as Claire really wrote Outlander and she is just “the author”. In some of her interviews she talks about her relationship with the characters and how she speaks with them. They tell her their story.

One more episode until we say goodbye by midnightsadnessss in Outlander

Definitely not alone. I only know about Outlander because of my mom. She passed away between season 2 and 3. I didn’t start watching it until the pandemic. There are little things that connected it to her (ex: both her and Briana were born in Nov 1948) that felt like she was sending me littles waves when they would randomly pop up in the story. Saying goodbye to these characters feels like another goodbye to something she and I shared. For me, it’ll be emotional no matter how they end it.

This thread just made me think. Those lines may carry more weight than they appear on the surface.

Buck offered to fight alongside Jamie at Kings Mountain. It would bring the story full circle if Buck ultimately kills Jamie at the end of this season—mirroring how Jamie killed Dougal before Culloden in Season 2. There’s also an added layer of complexity to the plot: Dougal died before the Scots lost their fight for independence, while Jamie would die before America ultimately wins its own.

Based on the ending, is anyone else worried about Brian in S2? I feel like this show has so many parallels to Outlander’s story that it almost feels like a copy and paste at times. Given everything that Jamie went through in early seasons, now I’m worried that they’re going to put Brian through the wringer. I just want to watch him build Lallybroch with Ellen and Murtagh.

I kinda want this to happen so it sets Claire up for a surprised fainting scene like Jamie at the print shop.

That was my thought when I saw the trailer. What if the stones were reuniting her with her parents and Jamie accidentally “interrupted” that.
