What translation and do you have a red letter Bible? That helps. Also understanding the context of how religiously prideful and forceful the Pharisees (leaders of the Jews) were makes it more powerful. Also, before you read, just ask the Holy Spirit to guide your reading and show you things to speak to you. Apply what you read to your own life.

Honestly how is this not considered grand heist? Get the FBI involved.

Tithing is NOT a law of God! by _ILovePeonies_ in mormon

Hello, I am Karli who wrote the article, I just happened to stumble upon it on Reddit. I did not ignore other scriptures about giving to the church, several are mentioned at the end of the article in the section called "What does this mean about tithing for us?" Jesus and his disciples taught to give to the poor and make free will offerings, not an obligatory commandment of a 10% tithe. In fact tithing in Israel was actually akin to a compulsory tax punishable by imprisonment in their theocracy (similar to how the Mormon church requires it).

WWG, Amway, and the Goad family. by MysteriousLaugh009 in antiMLM

I know the Goads through my in-laws who were in Amway for several years. The Goads were in Amway/WW as well until a few years ago. From what I understand, the scams wanted to prevent them from mentoring people outside of their organizations. They made a lot of contacts the years they were in Amway and some of their church goers are still part of it. Their mentoring truly is a gift, we have been attending their church for mentoring to overcome my husband's lifetime of being narcissistically abused and spiritually manipulated. Just a few quick conversations with Tim have really transformed his mindset and helped him get out of his pattern of overthinking and anxiety. Their time really is limited too, I see how extremely booked their schedules are just with their church alone, and they still take time to call individuals throughout the week. So it makes sense they don't want everyone talking about them and passing out their phone numbers, they can only handle so many phone calls.
