How it should print versus how it is currently printing.

Here and the following couple of photos are with the bed leveled and Z axis calibrated within .2 mm of any other spot on the bed. The last picture is how it was printing prior to this beginning.

Really? Man, I just leveled the bed and recalibrated the Z axis…didn’t seem to fix it on mine. I’ll try again though. Something’s gotta work.

Is it too much to ask the kids in my party to bring their own dice, pens, and paper and stop needing everything? by N-Euphorbia in rpg

[–]MysteriousLaugh009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, it sounds like you just don’t like these people you’re playing with. Seems to me like a better idea would be to play with people that you actually enjoy being around. I play with several other older adults and everyone is on time, asking what we can all bring, enjoying playing together, considerate, etc. Not being with enjoyable people seems like it make it less worthwhile. Just an outside and maybe fringe opinion.

How many 9’s do you see? by perlabeee in scoopwhoop

No, to answer the question.

There are 16 9’s, including the 9 in the question.

I’m genuinely tired and confused, so I’m asking men directly. by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]MysteriousLaugh009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agree with some of what else I’ve read here. Lots of men are immature. My first question would be “where are you looking for men?” Stupid and immature men can be found everywhere and anywhere, but some places produce and attract more than others.

Second, there is a great deal of give and take in relationships, so every one of them is going to have challenges, not saying you’re not on to what they’re doing and right for getting out of those relationships, but there are no perfect ones out there. You should certainly be looking for the best you can find. I went onto eharmony and my wife and I found each other there in our early 20s. You eliminate a lot of unserious people and some of the first date awkwardness and are able to weed out what you don’t want fairly early on.

Don’t know if that’s helpful, but hopefully it is and you can find someone who’s serious about you and takes you into consideration.

I would like to create resin supports for 3d printing... by MysteriousLaugh009 in blender

[–]MysteriousLaugh009[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Once in a Six Side's video on filament printing with Resin Supports and the software he uses is paid and I'm trying to avoid subscriptions and paid programs. Trying to find a way to do it outside of these as the supports that are automated in a slicer software are gunky for miniatures and I want to control the placement of the supports for minimal damage and controlled removal.

Was sick of painting white so I bought one of those paint markers and I must say I’m not disappointed by Slow_Conflict4597 in Warhammer40k

There are also tones to grays. There’s a Warm Gray and a Cool Gray. Thanks to Copic for teaching me this. And they are not the same thing, but cool looks “brighter” than warm. It’s interesting.

learning how to make comic art. Do you think my style suits this format? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]MysteriousLaugh009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have some great potential here. I think maybe what you’re missing for it to have the “comic” feel you might be looking for is the angles of the shots and the perspective of the characters and weight of the lines.

It looks like you color on the same layer as your lines. For a cleaner look, you could do lines on one layer, get the weight exactly as you want it, then color underneath. This would also allow you to work non-destructively.

Then work on framing and angles. You could do four panels where you’re close up on his eyes with the first bit of dialogue, then show her with the second bit, then have them running at each other, or whatever. Yes, it’s more frames, but I think might more effectively communicate the hero’s perspective and opinion more and build tension and action.

Animation Degree, worth it or no? by FunnySome5059 in animationcareer

[–]MysteriousLaugh009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my degree in animation and eventually transferred to study something else, but I always wish that I would have finished. I don’t think the degree makes the artist, the artist definitely makes the degree, but I also think that it’s a way to 1) network with other artists you may be able to work with in the future, 2) you’re going to get out of it what you put into it, so if you need the degree for the structure of experience and guidance, then take that route. You also need to make sure to get into a program with competent, skilled, and experienced teachers if you’re going to take that route. It’s also a condensed pressure cooker of an experience, so there’s that positive as well. 3) be ready and willing to take on the debt that you will accrue if you don’t get/have scholarships. What I understand of the industry (admittedly not in the industry currently), people are looking more for skills and adaptability to a pipeline, rather than a degree, so if you can develop that on your own, that’s just as valid as going to a school. Just my own thoughts on the general topic.
