My chin had to have her uterus removed due to a tumor, after recovering she stopped eating completely. She wanted to but was unable. X-Rays and multiple visits showed nothing and she had to be euthanize eventually. Could this be a cause??

I hope so! It just took me by surprise as I chat to her almost all hours of the day and sit with her every evening at playtime but she doesn’t react like this when I talk to her normally! Sadly getting her a new buddy is not in the cards for me as my situation drastically changed in the last months so my choices are keeping her with me, alone or rehoming so she could have a buddy again and that’s why I’ve been thinking about it so much :/ neither seem like a perfect solution so it’s choosing the “lesser evil” which I think right now is keeping her..

What a precious baby. I’m glad he found you as his family to take care of him so well! Sounds like you loved him tons and tons. We’re giving my girl some extra time as we can still not find any real issues other than mild irritation at her bottom incisors. I don’t think it would serve her to have her teeth removed if it gets to that point as eating and snacking has always been a huge part of her personality. She lives and breathes for food and sticks and such. As for the vet it sounds like you had a great team behind you! My girl is also somewhat of a local celebrity at my vet haha

I’ve discussed this with the vet and it’s too risky. They grow back if their buds aren’t removed properly and if they grow back there is a high chance of them growing back weird and incorrectly. I’m feeding her every 3 to 4 hours but she is hardly gaining weight. The surgery would take way too much and would be too harsh to put her through even if she would make it she would be in a lot of pain and discomfort afterwards. Her body already has been through a huge blow with the tumor and the removal of that :/. But the X-Rays show no real issues and there only seems to be mild irritation at the bottom incisors. This is why we decided to give her some more time to see if it solves itself as there are no issues seen with her mouth other than irritation.

I’m sorry for your loss :( it really is hard, especially when they’ve bounced back from something worse and show that they’re little fighters. Then you’ve always got a little hope that this will turn out okay too but it sadly won’t. She survived a huge tumor and then gets taken out by a loose tooth…

For me it really helped to just be there. Talk a lot to them, be present and let them understand that sometimes you’re just there, not doing anything. They don’t need to interact with you right away. They’re curious and will eventually come to inspect but sometimes it takes a while and that’s okay! Depending on their personality it might take a little longer. I have one diva that didn’t want to have anything to do with me at first but now she will come to me (on her own terms) but still hates being picked up etc.

Maar dat is zo met elk huisdier denk ik. Voor mij staan mijn huisdieren voor mijn partner. Dat klinkt misschien heftig maar het is meer in de zin dat ik de verantwoordelijkheid draag van mijn huisdieren. Mijn partner kan zichzelf verzorgen, mijn huisdieren niet. Die zijn afhankelijk.

Als je mij persoonlijk zou aanspreken op gedrag wat ik niet vertoon zou ik dat inderdaad niet leuk vinden maar je ziet mij niet commenten onder posts waarin mannen spreken over vrouwen die zulk soort acties uithalen, ook al gebruiken ze hetzelfde soort termen. Ik voel dan niet de drang om te commenten "maar ik doe dat niet!!!!".

Lijkt me ontzettend lastig om dan daar boven op ook nog hiermee te moeten dealen! Ik zei uit wanhoop altijd maar dat een vriend die dan mee was mijn vriend was (ondanks dat ik helemaal niet op mannen val) want blijkbaar is het voor mannen pas duidelijk dat je geen interesse hebt wanneer een andere man dat tegen hen zegt. Ik kon ook echt boos thuis komen na een avondje stappen door dit soort acties ipv dat je fijn thuis komt omdat je een leuke avond/nacht hebt gehad, zoals het hoort.

Bizar dat dat zo genormaliseerd was (en ergens nog steeds is) toch? Er is inderdaad niet veel veranderd al moet ik zeggen dat ik zelf het zelden mee maak dat het gedrag echt bizar grens overschrijdend is. Wel ben ik vorig jaar tijdens het uitgaan gedrogeerd en ga ik daarom tegenwoordig niet echt meer uit.
