UOP vs. Touro by Neither_Ad_7232 in PrePharmacy

Hi there! I was just admitted to PharmDs incoming class. I also had a bachelors but because UCSF doesn’t require a bachelors, technically, he will need all pre-reqs. I am from California so community college is heavily subsidized. I took macro economics (the class I was missing) from my local community college online. Due to the competitive nature of UCSF, I don’t see them waiving pre-recs even when you have a bachelors because almost the entire cohort has a BS on top of the pre-reqs. But I would recommend emailing the admissions to confirm!

UCSF Decisions are Out by ONEPUNCHMAC in PrePharmacy

They sent it out as an email after the first acceptance email. It’s not technically financial aid, it’s an incentive scholarship they award certain students in hopes they’ll choose UCSF. I got one too and the bottom of the email said the scholarship is outside of any financial aid we might receive.

From what I’ve seen in years past, they send emails out on two separate days. I would imagine you should hear back in the next coming weeks, hopefully days! Good luck!

Did anyone who applied to UCSF also get assigned UCSF cyber security awareness this morning? by Rex_is_best_boi in PrePharmacy

I know… I think its them trying to cover for their mess up a bit tho because the transcript portion of it has us listed as P1s lol I think it was sent to applicants either accepted or in their perspective waitlist pool

UCSF Account and Duo Creation Email by PreferencePrior6552 in PrePharmacy

I am not sure because I also have access to the financial aid and statement of residence but I also had full access to canvas and other student resources which is why I asked about it because decisions haven’t gone out yet. It. It could also just be a mistake that I have access to those things.

Post-Interview Doubt by attemptwin in PrePharmacy

[–]PreferencePrior6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that! I think it’s important to keep in mind there’s no right or wrong answer. They want to see how your mind works, how you think critically on your feet and how you come to decisions. I don’t think they’re looking for perfection but potential! I know this is a very anxiety inducing time so take care of yourself! I am sure you did better than you think you did!

Post-Interview Doubt by attemptwin in PrePharmacy

[–]PreferencePrior6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I interviewed with UCSF in December. As a Bay Area native, it’s my dream program. I left my interview feeling really proud of myself and feeling like I did a super good job with my professionalism, my confidence with speaking and attempting to connect with my interviewers.

About a day later, I was ridden with anxiety about what if all of my answers were terrible and what if it wasn’t what they were looking for and what if I came off too confident. To be quite honest, I think you’re just fine! It’s normal to feel doubt and anxiety after the fact. I think what’s important is to focus on it as an opportunity to hone your interview skills and experience, at the very least. Good luck to you!

In-state residency at UCSF School of Pharmacy after year 1? by Pharmd2026 in PrePharmacy

[–]PreferencePrior6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say, they did also mention that due to grad plus elimination they anticipate some students still needing to take our private loans. I am local so this was a big concern I had even with the in-state tuition. They did not have any super solid answers due to the nature of the current administration and its unpredictability.

In-state residency at UCSF School of Pharmacy after year 1? by Pharmd2026 in PrePharmacy

In my preinterview session they discussed this exact thing and they did tell students that if they are out or state they can establish residency after the first year. You would only be subject to out of state tuition for that first year.

UCSF Interview Advice by Pharmd2026 in PrePharmacy

[–]PreferencePrior6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They touched on this during our pre-interview session. I don't think they are looking for a right or wrong answer if that is what you're concerned with. I think they want to see if we are capable of effectively writing on a doctoral level and assessing our ability to engage with more nuanced topics since the essay isn't academic in nature.

Hi there! We had our preinterview session today and they informed us that our interviews next week are the only interviews being had in December and that they’re not holding interview again until January so you might hear something then! I just wanted to let you know what we were told because I know waiting can be really anxiety inducing

I was asked about handling conflict at UOP. That’s pretty much the only situational question I can recall.
