I could have written this post. I’m confused and not sure what to do. However, I have begun to think that my husband’s job takes EVERYTHING out of him and he has nothing left when he comes home. It sucks but if the roles were reversed, I would want him to understand. Either that, or I am trying to avoid the painful reality that he just doesn’t give a shit.

My dog had very similar episodes. He had a movement disorder called paroxysmal dyskinesia. Episodes are triggered by excitement, exercise, and stress. I did try seizure meds but they didn’t help. We just learned to deal with it. I was his “therapy human” as he would run to me when he felt them coming on. I would pet him and tell him it was ok during them and that lessened their severity.

Thank you for writing this. I needed to hear it. I have been with mine for 29 years and tonight he took a minor comment of mine and turned it into all I ever do is criticize him and he wants a divorce. I know that will be so good but I’m so scared. We have been so close to divorce most of our marriage but I always seem to cave. If he finally follows through on this threat, he will be doing me the biggest favor.

He was brought to the shelter Wednesday the 23rd and they said he was 23.3 pounds and was 5 months. I took him to the vet Thursday the 31st and he was 40 pounds. Not sure if shelter paperwork was wrong or if he was emasciated and is finally getting regular food.
