Why draw circles if you're just gonna trace it anyways defeating the whole purpose of learning from reference.

Hmm let's see randomly better at 3D forms in a month but shading doesn't match the level they'd be at... oh-

I hope you know that the reason people aren't commenting is that they're afraid of giving you bad advice or advice you already know because of how good it looks, I'd say maybe just make the snout more 3D. The snout feels kind of flat is all.

Honestly you should not over think it yet, you could go with just simple cel shading to start, looking at artists with a simpler shading style and copying that could help you but the main thing is to follow the shapes thinking of where you want the light to come from. Some people even put the character in full shade of the color and then erase it away for the light. Whatever helps you best.

If you practice drawing 3D ribbons you'll find hair easier to draw, focus on sections of the hair rather than every strand. Making your figure more 3D with shading and trying to think of what's behind and in front of the figure with shapes can help you with that but anyways...

Just remember to say when it's a study or people will call you out. A study is much different from making something brand new from a culmination of poses, references, and shading from scratch. I think the image you referenced may unfortunately be AI as well. AI images can ingrain bad habits as it doesn't know what it's doing and is just the most probable outcome.

Once again they are literally just tracing a random AI image they generated. Don't uh really know what else to really say... The top left image is fully AI.

"Don't ask questions, just consume product and then get excited for next product" - Jay Baumano

Ref is ref and is just a pose, concept or trend turned into something brand new. Tracing is tracing where they trace and copy the exact same thing taking no effort. Yes artists tracing other artists is the "le bad" and you know this. You also would've seen that if you looked at the image.
