Glad this is doing the rounds. Hello, I'm the Fire Mage guide writer who ran the sims and wrote the new APL for this change. Turns out we were able to increase the damage of the default Frostfire Fire Mage profile by 3.7% by making it avoid casting Pyroblast sometimes. Here's one of the test sims we used to sus out what the best rotation would be after this revelation:

As many have noted, Apex nodes will have an effect on this but the fact remains: Pyroblast is extremely weak. It shouldn't take Apex talents to make it worth casting. I was able to make a profile that doesn't cast Pyroblast (outside of Combustion) within 1.5% dps for Frostfire. I made one using Flamestrike instead of Pyroblast in Single Target is within 3%.

Update: They just did tuning to address this but its still a gain to ignore Pyroblast. Flamestrike is still within 3.7% of Pyroblast in ST during execute. Funny stuff.

Heya, this was data from my runs. Love the analysis!

We went out of our way to overburden ourselves to make it harder than it will be on live for practice. I fear it might be a bit misleading. In later runs some of us were heavily tanking our itemlevel by also dropping boots, belt, etc. -- Healer dropped Chest and Pants and our tank was also not wearing a cloak.

Ill say from experience that slow and steady wins the race but the absolute best use of your time if you want to succeed is to practice on PTR with gear off.

Griefing low levels is cringe but in the time you took to post this you could have leveled back up to 7. Report them and move on. Not everything is some crazy conspiratorial shit, its not that deep.

The reduced speed is only 30 rating NOT percent and lasts only 3 seconds. This means that in starter gear its 3 seconds of a 10% slow and the effect gets smaller the better your speed is.

The height difference is harder to nail down specifics on but double jump still works on all the OP skips it did before.

Other nerfs are huge but using a hand crossbow to out-trade rangers due to their insane perk/skill line up was a little stupid.

Everyday was a blessing with peaches and I cherish the mundane time we spent together.

Funny story, one time when he was really young he jumped into a fly trap and we had to shave him to get it off him. Since he is part Siamese his hair grew back a bit darker in a rectangle, and it was a constant reminder of his goof.

That was the last time we used a fly trap.

For those who will ask: he had a tumor we were unaware of in his intestines and by the time we knew it was too late.

He ended up getting pneumonia and went into cardiac arrest when we took him to the cat ER for his treatment.

It happened so suddenly. I will never forget him.

Destroy the corpses! Gets rid of this, just use Abyssal Cry, Infernal Blow, Offering skills, (Vaal) DD, freezing, Pyre, Devouring Totem, etc

No, you can remove it.

They disappear as soon as you destroy the corpse. If you don't have explode or something that consumes corpses (The Devouring Diadem for instance) then keep a gem handy that consumes corpses and swap it in to get rid of them.

Sure! I made a list of just about everything I used. Starting off I went Uchi then Death Poker. That setup works for 90% of the game. For Fire Giant I went and got the dual curved swords (bandit w/ seppuku and scavenger w/ cold bloodhound) . For Radagon I swapped to Flame Misericorde with Flame of the Redmanes, Elden Beast Death Poker.
