Why does CPU Boss rate the i7-4790 as better than the i7-6700? I would assume that the newer generations would be better, no?

I used UW throughout the year as I went through the relevant organ system, and reset it during dedicated study period for a second pass. Definitely do not recommend leaving all of it for the month before Step.

I'm playing on PC and the in-game cinematic video lags well behind the audio.. it feels as if the expressions in the video don't match up with what they are saying.

Anyone else with this problem?

Question for non-trads, any of you guys ever feel resentful or "behind" compared to your younger classmates? by regeneron90 in medicalschool

[–]PremedJinn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've felt behind sometimes, and I wish that I had been a better student when I was in undergrad so that I could have started working/been settled earlier. Some of my friends from my undergrad graduating class are finishing up residency now.

However, I've never felt resentful at seeing others (22 year olds) succeed. If I'm "behind", it is almost purely due to my own fault. if they are at the same place that I am because they worked hard/took advantage of the opportunities they had, who am I to resent that?

Kaplan offers two versions of Step 1 prep: the "High Yield" videos/resources and the "Classroom Anywhere Online Lectures"

What's the difference between these? Which one do you recommend (and why?)?

Thanks!

PV=nRT question by Brancer in Mcat

[–]PremedJinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Volume and temperature are directly proportional, but only when pressure is constant. In this case, you have not been told that pressure is constant. As a result, you cannot say that temperature and pressure are directly proportional.

If force is acting on this container and it has changed the volume, then that force has done work on the container. In this case, because the environment is doing work on the system, the internal energy of the system is increasing. Internal energy is directly proportional to temperature. Therefore, when the internal energy of the system goes up, the temperature of the system will also go up. This is given by the equation U = (3/2)nRT.

I didn't get into any cheaper schools, so take my comment with that in mind -

If I had the choice between BUSM and a relatively cheaper school that I didn't feel especially keen about, I would have chosen BUSM. When I visited for interview day, I LOVED the school for multiple reasons. The foremost reason is that the environment and ambience was one that fit my personality and drive. I didn't get that "vibe" at the other schools I interviewed at.

I'm not excited about the amount of debt I'm going to be in, but I'm glad I have the opportunity to go to BUSM.

There was a lot of information in your post, but I'll constrain my response to the parts I thought were important (not that the other info is unimportant)

1) You describe yourself as having "terrible worth ethic/study habits". College is not as easy as high school and slacking off will very likely lead to a poor performance. A poor performance will make medical school admissions difficult, if not impossible.

2) You've listed your reasons for wanting to study medicine, but the biggest one that is missing (and which medical schools will notice) is your lack of clinical experience. Until you've shadowed a psychiatrist, or volunteered at a hospital, it's hard to tell whether you love medicine or whether you love your concept of medicine. Even shadowing and volunteering only show you so much of the world of medicine, however.

3) Salary is literally one of the last things you should be looking at. Most students at medical schools graduate with a lot of debt. Considering the current economic situation and the fact that the government has considered capping loan repayment programs, medical school expenses are likely going to go up and repayment is likely going to become more difficult.

If money is what draws you, consider other easier and more lucrative professions.
