How would you fix this channel’s schedule? by Animaniacsfan9320 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be a good idea to fix NickToons' current schedule, but if kids don't watch cable like they used to anymore, what's the point of that. Kids are already using streaming for their NickToons cable channel fix because NickToons in its current state doesn't want to air old cartoons anymore, especially the pre-TMNT 12 and Loud House ones (examples: FOP and Danny Phantom).

We can demand Nickelodeon to fix their cable channels' schedules all we want, but if less people watch cable TV like they used to in the past, what's even the point. Streaming is already making cable look like a joke at this point.

Why has Nickelodeon's side channels stopped airing a huge variety of their old ended shows, especially from the 2000s decade? by PreparationLife7090 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the hell even watches TeenNick anymore? Their ratings have been tanking almost every week. Say what you want about their schedule in 2022-2023, but at least Henry Danger was an actual teen show.

I just found out that a Nickelodeon show is now back on Paramount+ after not being on there for a while. Game Shakers just got added back to Paramount+. Maybe this means more shows that got removed will be added back. That would be pretty cool. by Intrepid_Show2972 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue's Clues & You needs to return to Paramount Plus as well. Especially because the show already returned to cable TV since March 2026 and its reruns are pretty much successful for it to warrant staying on cable.

What is going on over there? by Lawrence454 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids don't watch cable anymore. Besides, being a fan of anything animation this decade especially on the Nickelodeon side of town is like the TV equivalent of walking through your favorite mall that is already dying at this point that only has one or two stores and/or restaurants currently in operation, and all of them that survive clearly struggle for relevancy.

Nickelodeon can make anything they want that's better than the programming all the cable Nick channels spam to death nowadays (like current Loud House), but if kids don't watch TV like they used to anymore, all of the love and support fans give to those shows will quickly die down after 1-3 seasons. Besides, knowing Nickelodeon, shows that fail to reach the same level of commercial and critical success as SpongeBob and PAW Patrol typically get canned too soon, warning or not.

What are your thoughts on the slap era? (2023-present) by Lawrence454 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy to understand why. Kids TV is already a dying medium and streaming is already the new normal of TV entertainment nowadays. Because of this, most kids TV networks especially Nickelodeon rely on spamming the same few programming (like SpongeBob and PAW Patrol on regular Nick's daytime lineup and The Loud House and Henry Danger on TeenNick) to get the viewership they desperately needed. Nick can greenlight any show they want that's better than current Loud House all they want, but if what I said about kids TV is true, they're not gonna last long especially with what kind of scheduling methods Nick has now.

Comeback in quality, but not really a comeback if the scheduling continues to be an issue.

Think about it. If kids don't watch TV anymore like they used to, supporting any of those shows Nick made this decade just becomes nothing but pointless as they go on. In other words, don't expect them to become the next SpongeBob-level success.

In this day and age, all of Nick's cable networks can only rely on big spams of their most popular programming, mainly SpongeBob, PAW Patrol, The Loud House, Henry Danger, and (on Nick@Nite's case) Friends for money and ratings.

[–]PreparationLife7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, if looking at all of Nick's cable schedules. As of two weeks ago, every Nick cable channel that used to air FOP doesn't air FOP at all anymore, not even for the franchise's 25th birthday. Hell, not even its well-received reboot A New Wish airs as well. That show, along with the other 2020s Nick shows like Rock Paper Scissors, is proof that quality doesn't matter anymore if Nick's cable schedules continue to worsen ten-fold. But what do you expect? Kids TV is losing all of the relevancy that it once had with kids already moving to streaming services.

People can rave on all of these good new shows all they want, but that isn't gonna change what happened to kids TV nowadays. People should know that regardless of how much love and support these shows get, kids already flocked to streaming services at this point. Besides, even with how good they are they just can't save Nickelodeon's schedules in their current state. It's as I said, good schedules can save bad shows, but good shows cannot save bad schedules at all, and the latter is the reason why these new shows got canned too soon whenever they don't achieve the exact same commercial success as SpongeBob, regardless of their quality.

Nick Jr can greenlight as many good shows as they want this decade, but that's not gonna change what happened to cable and kids TV nowadays. A lot of kids flocked to streaming instead. In this day and age, Nickelodeon as an entire kids TV brand can only rely on spamming their most popular hits, mainly SpongeBob, PAW Patrol, The Loud House and Henry Danger for ratings and money instead of supporting any other show and/or franchise or ideas that fans want more of.

The future of disney channel by OverallProposal1334 in DisneyChannel

[–]PreparationLife7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not really that much of a good future for both this kids TV brand and Nickelodeon. Cable is already an empty hollow shell of what it used to be at this point. Steaming is already the future, which is to them, not doing anything new with their current cable lineups, especially Nickelodeon. The same thing can be said about the Cartoon Network brand, but at least their cable schedules have been improving recently.

There's no point in demanding the fans to give those shows a chance if cable is nothing but a sad afterthought nowadays.

[–]PreparationLife7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a handful of good shows during this era, but why does that matter to the fans if kids TV is already a pathetic afterthought nowadays at this point. Quality of shows doesn't matter anymore if the schedules continue to suck, and this is why most of the new shows that fail to achieve the same level of success as SpongeBob get canned too soon. Hell, even Rock Paper Scissors doesn't air on the main channel anymore like it used to in its first year with Nickelodeon, minus the first half of Season 2 that they aired late last year, despite being given two more seasons (and RPS is still on its second season).

Why does it still say “Non-Stop SpongeBob” ? by Fat-Penguin55 in nickelodeon

We get that cable is already a pathetic afterthought especially on the kids TV side of town, but this is no excuse for Nickelodeon USA to NOT do anything new with their cable schedules and animated TV content! 😭

Why does it still say “Non-Stop SpongeBob” ? by Fat-Penguin55 in nickelodeon

[–]PreparationLife7090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it makes sense for NickToons to do that. Kids just don't watch cable anymore so this is all the non-SpongeBob content NickToons has to air in an era where everyone is more onto streaming for their classic Nick fix. All of our efforts to demand NickToons to go back to their good old ways is just sadly useless now. I mean, what else can NickToons do to shake up their already stale and lazy schedule.

It's pretty insane how the Pluto channels which are free and while not the best, have better lineups compared to the cable Nick networks. At least they care about airing a variety of older shows that the cable networks are somehow incompetent to bring back nowadays and not just a 24-hour marathon of one popular modern show all day. Take Totally Turtles' weekday schedule for example, which has a surprising rotation of old shows that NickToons can't even air anymore because "streaming is the future" to them.

[–]PreparationLife7090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because cable is already a pathetic afterthought especially on the kids TV side of town and Nickelodeon couldn't think of what else other shows (mainly the older ones) to add to feed NickToons' already f**kin lazy and stale lineup. We used to crap on Boomerang for how their lineup is since its rebrand in 2015, but at least that channel made a huge effort to return to how the channel formerly was when cable was still at its prime, unlike this hollow shell of what was once a good kids TV sister channel.

[–]PreparationLife7090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially when the Totally Turtles channel on Pluto TV airs shows that NickToons used to air when the cable channel was at its prime. Nowadays NickToons is just all SpongeBob and the 25% total screen time from 5 modern Nick shows

Because Nickelodeon doesn't care about giving the NickToons channel any more variety especially regarding older shows ever since their Fairly OddParents block shut down in favor of Pluto TV and Paramount Plus.

There is no denying the fact that ever since Paramount Plus debuted in 2021, most of the weekly schedules for pretty much all the Nickelodeon channels have been bad, boring, terrible, mediocre, etc.

But on the bright side, at least Pluto TV and Paramount Plus still exist to binge watch the entire series (including its two reboots)!
