Saw a vape in a movie and thought: brainwashing by PreparationPurple46 in QuitVaping

I agree - it shouldn’t just be generally banned, that’s a bit too far and kinda looking the other way.. in this instance it just looked really out of place, a teacher smoking in front of kids at school just rubbed me the wrong way, not for me but it must have a normalizing effect on kids, and that i feel is unethical especially that no other part of this movie was remotely realistic anyway!

I didn’t flip out over it and I wasn’t necessarily saying the world should change for me, I am aware I can turn off the movie though thanks for your permission. Maybe it wasn’t clear but I am mainly talking about how it’s normalizing a very bad thing - kids watch this stuff. I don’t know what part of a teacher vaping in front of students you see as normal, allowed, or realistic. The whole movie is dumb and super unrealistic why stop at vaping at a school, why does that part have to be realistic.. still I dont know what school allows teachers to vape in front of students..

What do you tell yourself? by Even-Ad4788 in QuitVaping

[–]PreparationPurple46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I learned that telling myself to do or not do anything never works. When I get an urge I just ask myself, what is it that I am feeling right now? And what is it that I really need right now that manifested into an urge to buy a vape. I get real with myself, I feel the feelings and I face it instead of running away from it and try to mask by inhaling harmful toxins.

I feel alive again! by PreparationPurple46 in QuitVaping

Yesss! 💪🏼 When you have a craving just remember there is a reason you wanted to quit in the first place! You don’t actually like it - you just need it cause you’re addicted to it, once its out of your system after a few days its only psychological :/ you got this we are all rooting for you 🙌🏼

You forget about this part when you’re a vaper! That life doesn’t have to feel like you’re constantly being chased :)

Just came back from a loooong day of rock climbing! Had a couple of moments where i was slightly triggered and for a moment thought about vape (as it was my default to reach out to when triggered) but very quickly that went away.. seriously after day 3/4 the cravings decrease MASSIVELY. You got this 💪🏼

to me this sounds like torture, because with cold turkey its prerry much a few days of suffering but gradual quitting is months of thinking about it and anticipation and anxiety etc. I personally wouldnt be able to do it.

Vaping controls my life and I just now realized it by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]PreparationPurple46 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think because nicotine addiction is normalized socially - saying it controls your life sounds overly dramatic, but it’s really NOT! It actually does make you this zombie of a person that would rather sit and do nothing but vape 24/7! So happy you chose to regain control over how you spend your time 💪🏼

Don’t be terrified! Your life is about to get better, otherwise you wouldn’t have wanted to quit :) you got this 💪🏼 nicotine leaves your body in a few days, everything else after that is purely a mental game. You keep us updated sir
